Thanks guys. Will give this some thought, though I am at work all day tomorrow.0

Seeing as the account is now withdrawn and no more deposits can be made after the 1st one there is no chance of this being any use unfortunately, as all of my money is elsewhere at the moment. Good luck to everybody else though!0

They are unlikely to have processed the cheque until atleast two days after receiving it, so you'll have until atleast wednesday to have CHAPS transfered the money from elsewhere into your clearing/current account.0 -
Would point out that this place is little more than two men, a dog & a typewriter. I cannot for the life of me understand how they can keep offering rates consistently at the top of the best buy tables. Buyer beware!Ethical moneysaver0

What information are you basing this on? Do you know something that we don't? Even if it did start to fail at some point, do you know of a single UK bank or building society that has failed since the credit crunch, that hasn't then been taken over by another bank, or by the government?0 -
I applied and posted my application on 8th December. Just received my new account passbook today which has been opened as the original 5.51% account.
Does it say 5.51% on your passbook? I received mine today, but it doesn't state what the rate is, nor on the letter that came with it. I posted my application on the 6 Dec.0 -
I doubt that they would put 5.51% on the passbook because it is still a variable account. If it's the original offer, then I would have thought that it would state "Premier Guarantee", rather then "Premier Guarantee Issue 2."0

Quite right! My short experience with them was that of an ameteur outfit - ie being told different things from different people or them simply 'not knowing'.
Good luck to all who went for it though. :T0 -

Walk past their one office every day.
Having been burnt once through Icesave's rates being unsustainable, I am now very wary of little known institutions at the top of the best buy tables!
OK I was exaggerating. There are two typewriters.Ethical moneysaver0
