Like many people I was expecting the "up to 50%" to probably mean a box of crayons and a few bits of tinsel. But I was very pleasantly surprised at my local Woolies, many things 50% off and that is after any reductions already on them. I agree to being a bit underwhelmed by the DVd's and comp. games, but still plenty to be had in my opinion.
  • I'm going to post the same as I posted on the Grab it thread.

Popped into the local Woolies today to find that the price I paid on Nintendo Ds games on Monday (£19.99, no sale) had increased to £29.99 with a 10% discount. Hmmm , I'm not that good at math but isn't that an increase in price?

Please don't assume that just because a sale banner is being displayed that you can not get it for a better deal elsewhere.

So glad i was there at 9.30 this morn as by lunch most of the 50% shelves were clear!
    Heaving in there.

Got myself a xmas pressie foot spa for £5 after one for ages!
Kids got there much needed trainers at 20% off
    Some xmas toys 20%
Bit annoyed at the dvds as they had cases out on shelves but not the dvds after you'd queued up! they are 10%

Plenty left at 30, 20 and 10% if the sale is still on tomorrow for those that missed out today.
On another note wilkinsons had half price toys don't know if thats a local things (fareham) as they are opposite woolies!

I nabbed a lot of small gifts and greetings cards at 50% off.

Most "desireable" computer games and bits and DVDs had "sold out" markers on them, funny that.

I'm happy though, i got my floating duck radio, lol.

My local woolies was rammed full to the rafters, i've never seen it so busy!
  • only 20% off most stuff - rubbish sale and not worth hype
 If I say something you like....Please hit the thanks button
  • does anybody know if the sale continues tomorrow? there were a few things I fancied getting but it was just to busy. Planning on being there for 8.30am in the morning when they open if it is?
  • To be honest, with the prices already tens of percent higher than other retailers it wasnt a brilliant sale.

got some good games, priced online and in gamestation etc and def best deals. and big congrats to all the staff who were obviously working really hard despite getiing told they may not have a pay at the end of the month!
  • I bought replacement tree light bulbs, they were reduced to 10p for the pack, when I looked at my till receipt there was a further 3p knocked off so only cost 7p. lol
Apart from that I thought it was a bit of a con.
