Woolworths administrator Deloitte has told MCV that the retailer will launch its ‘Biggest Ever Sale’ tomorrow – with discounts of up to 50% on all goods.
Deloitte said in a statement:
‘We anticipate increased footfall in the stores and have hired additional staff to cope with increased demand. Additional goods have been moved to all stores and further stock will be added in the coming days. ‘There is continuing interest in the core Woolworths business and the Sale will continue whilst potential buyers finalise their plans for the purchase of the business.’
Highlights of the Sale will include up to 50 per cent off Toys, 30 per cent off Christmas trees and decorations, 50 per cent off all greeting cards, 20 per cent off personal gifts and reductions on all entertainment products.
Be interesting to see what the reduction is on entertainment producs

Clever marketing, but now I refuse to buy anything from them, what a cheap trick telling the media 50% off everything, lying !!!!!!!s.
Just been in, on the window it says "UP TO 50% off everything, went inside, 50% off some junk, but only 20% off all the toys I was after. Waste of a trip. I cant wait for them to go under now, they just manipulated the media and I fell for it :mad:0 -
Woolworth's made no promises, it's idiots on forums like these who got worked up into a frenzy that are to blame.
Anyway, there's a thread about it here:

I agree, 1 branch near me was heaving but when I went into my local first thing today I was totally underwhelmed - a lot of the stuff was cheaper a couple of weeks ago on 3 for 2 with the 20% voucher - or even without!0
