I just had a final demand from them ...
The next thing will be a final, final demand. That will be followed by a last final demand. Possibly followed by a last chance to pay at the reduced rate.

If they actually had a valid basis for these charges, they would just issue court proceedings. All these demands are just a scam.

  • Hi,
I received a PCN from Euro Car Parks in my local Waitrose car park. I was incorrectly parked but the warden put the wrong time on the ticket. I appealed, but they replied saying i was illegally parked and therefore had to pay. I have evidence that i was not there when the ticket says. The warden should have written the time as 15.41, but actually wrote 15.14. Can anyone tell me how i stand on this one.

    Many Thanks

You were not illegally parked. You have not been fined. Just read a number of the other threads and the sticky at the top of this forum. And then ignore anything else you get from them.

Unfortunately, now you have corresponded with them, they have you hooked and will continue to pester you. And they will try and scare you into paying.

What you need to remember is these private parking companies are in business to make money. It would not make business sense to tell you not to pay, would it? There IS no appeals procedure. How can there be? You have not been fined. You just have an invoice from them. And they want you to pay.

But that does not mean you should. So don't.
  • I Was Shopping In My Local Shopping Centre On Saturday 7/3/09. I Purchased A 2 Hour Parking Ticket (50p) As I Always Do. I Parked In A Normal Bay Even Though I Have A Disabled Tax Disc I Have Not Applied For My Blue Badge Yet. Time Of My Arrival Was 14.07 And My Ticket Expired At 16.07. As The Shopping Centre Was Really Busy And I Am Unable To Walk Very Fast And Need Frequent Rests I Was Late Returning To My Car It Was 16.30pm And There It Was The Dreaded Blue Parking Charge Penalty Notice Stating I Was 21 Minutes Over My Parking Time And I Had To Pay A Charge Of £50.00 Reduced To £30.00 If I Paid Within 14 Days. Well I Saw Several Shades Of Red And Set About Hunting For The Jobsworth Who Had Given Me The Ticket I Finally Found Him 40 Mins Later After Driving Round And Round The Car Park Several Times , Dont Know Where He Had Been Hiding .i Had To Get Shopping Centre Security To Radio Him To The Car Park. I Was Polite To Him At First And Asked Him If He Thought It Was Fair Giving Me A Ticket Because I Was A Bt Late Back He Replied Just Doing My Job So I Asked Him To Give Me A Break As I Was On Benefits And Registered Disabled And Couldn,t Afford The Fine And He Just Said There Was Nothing He Could Do I Asked Him To Rip It Up And He Said Why Should I ? Any Way The Upshot Of This Is Do You Think The Ticket Is Unfair And Should I Pay It. It Is Issued By Euro Car Parks And I Dont Know If They Have The Power To Send A Bailiff In If I Dont Pay Please Can Anyone Advise. Thanks In Advance.

Read the stickies and you'll see that they cannot do a thing. Ignore them, ignore any letter they send, don't post ticket on here or anywhere. They will go away quicker if you ignore them. Above all DONT PAY.
    ps
Its hard work reading with caps on every word. LOL.

More PPC news from the Aberdeen paper:
BAFFLED Aberdeen motorists who have appealed parking tickets were today told they still have to cough up.
The Evening Express reported in January that £85 fines were being slapped on drivers parking at Aberdeen beach’s retail park.
And scores of Aberdeen drivers said they didn’t know why they had been hit with the hefty parking fines.
Edinburgh-based firm Central Ticketing is dishing out parking fines on the Aberdeen site.
Jason Key, managing director of Central Ticketing, said at the time the firm complied with parking rules and invited motorists to appeal their tickets.
But some drivers today said they were still told to pay.

There - corrected it for you. If any of these local newspaper reporters ever bothered to do a smidgin of research, they wouldn't be describing these mickey mouse charges as "fines", and they wouldn't imply that drivers had to pay them.

Yup, research and accuracy are not the EE's strongpoint, I'm afraid.
