Hey guys just want to get your advice on this one. i work for a organisation where there is parking on site for all staff. one day i parked perfectly safely on site but not in a marked bay. have done so before with no problem, however on latest occasion i got a private parking fine. as per advice on here i've ignored the ticket completely. 4 months later they've (Roxburghe debt collectors) written to me asking for me to pay £75 or 'we may commnce court proceedings against you'.
apparently they got my details from the dvla. do i need to do anything? just over a year ago when i was new to my organisation and i parked w/out a ticket, i got a ticket and paid it (i wasn't part of this forum then else i no way would have paid!). is there anyway they can trace me or something?
ta! xx0 -

They won't trace you based on a previous ticket paid. They won't actually do anything outside of their usual procedure which is to get your details from the DVLA then start the letter-chain of threats.
The letters are just a standard computer-generated series of threats, everyone gets the same letters. Copies of them are shown on this thread (link below) along with the not-very-scary-at-all 'Solicitors letters' from Graham White (which in fact are sent by...Roxburghe Debt Collectors!):

Please look at those letters now, today! Don't wait till the so-called 'Graham White Solicitors' letters arrive and then panic, once you've seen what the letter-chain consists of it's actually quite funny when they arrive in sequence and you know the threats are hollow.
Nothing will happen at all. Park there again, and again, and again - I would!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hello
Got my final demand today, will ignore it. I come on here frequently to give myself a bit of backbone.
Thank you to everyone who posts their incidents, including the chap who was given 24 hours or else, and a week later he is still waiting for the or else. I direct everyone to this forum who mentions they have had incidents with these companies.
There are so many injustices from unscrupulous organisations who pray on the worries and insecurities people have for profit. its so good to feel im doing something back.
I confronted the resident who ticketed my vehicle he denied it at first and then he tried to justify the reason for it (denying he got commission) and told him I would report him for harassment if he so much as looked at me again. Although I can see the annoyance of residents parking being filled up by shoppers etc, they cant justify the fact that ticketing in empty car parks or vehicles over staying for minutes or the ridiculous amounts they levy on the ticket is at the least extortionate.
Thank you again0 -
Coupon and Sir Roger, thanks a million. I will rest easy & park on!!0

Collect all your junkmail, photocopy it, put it in a brown envelope and hand it over. Tell him he is wasting his life and that if you ever get another bogus ticket you will sue him personally in small claims court.0 -

The fact that they are supposed to give up does not seem to be happening. Now received a letter from a debt collection agency in Scotland who say they are going to send someone round. Been going on and on and on and on for about a year. What a waste of time and money. Do they EVER give up?0

Do they EVER give up?
Er, yes they do give up [see several hundred threads on here for details].
All you have to do is...................er, nothing, they WILL go away.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0
