  • I've received a reply saying they've taken everything I'd written into consideration and have declined the appeal. They stated that 'It is the motorist's responsiblity to ensure they purchase enough time for the duration of their stay and to allow for any unforeseen delays'.

Of course they have declined your appeal, they wouldn't make any money if they allowed appeals. What you now need to do is ignore all correspondence from them, and do not contact them again. Don't worry about it, you will not be going to court.

Which company is it? You may find their letter chain in in this thread.
  • We parked on a trading estate near where we live and returned to our car to find a private parking ticket from Euro car parks saying we were not parking within the bays. We were only slightly on the line!!! We ignored it as Martin said and today have received a Euro Car Parks Parking charge notice enforcement which looks a bit scary!! we are not sure whether to ignore this too or pay up, they now want £70. It says if we don't pay up in 28 days then it will go to a debt collection agency, does that mean the baliffs will come round? I am a bit scared, I am a mother of 3 young children and don't really need this stress. My husband is the driver and owner of the car but seems really unbothered by it all !! please help, Ellie

Please read all the other posts on here that deal with private parking companies. You don't owe them a penny and you are falling into their trap by believing all their hollow threats. Hold firm and you will be OK. It just shows how stupid these parking companies are if they believe you owe them money by the car not being correctly in one of their marked bays. This is why we hold these parking companies in such contempt.

What you do is ignore them from now on. You do not owe them a penny. Their "appeals" process is just a sham, as it's not independent. S0 please don't contact them again. What parking company was it, as we like to name and shame on here?

Thanks for your advice, are you sure it's okay to ignore it? I just don't want to make the situation any worse for myself. it says it's from NCP, National Car Parks Limited. Makes me very nervous, what do I do if people start knocking at my door :(

Of course you ignore it. What sort of people do you think will come knocking on your door?

You have to understand the difference between debt-collectors and bailiffs.Debt collectors are just private citizens with no special powers. They cannot enter your property, they cannot seize goods and they cannot blacken your credit record over an alleged parking ticket. In the remote possibly that they do come calling, tell them to go away or you will call the police.

Bailiffs are "officers of the court". They only come on the scene if the case goes to court (very unlikely), you lose (very, very unlikely) and you refuse to pay whatever the judge orders. This is so remote that it can be discounted, especially that stupid case about not parking correctly in the marked bay.

So just relax, and they will eventually lose interest in you.

    To everybody above

All you have are completely unenforceable invoices from companies running scams.

NCP, Euro Car Parks, Town and City are all well known scamsters.

Nobody will be knocking on the door. No bailiffs will be coming. All they want is for you to send a cheque to them when they have no legal basis to any cash whatsoever.

Ignore, relax and get on with your lives. Nothing will happen. Nobody will be going to court.
