Same advice applies, Ignore. Don't appeal, its a waste of time, you'll get less threatening letters that way. It seems they're a load of chancers if they are trying to issue a """"PCN"""" for land they are not contracted for or do not own. Get hubby to look up PPC's on this and Pepipoo to see just how powerless they really are.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Peter is correct, direct your husband to this location.
Congratulation on the new addition, do not waste your time and efforts on a PPC.0 -
Thanks for the advice- we're going over today to see if there are any signs up-is it true that if they send a debt collection agency to the house- they have no rights to enter and take my belongings? I'm getting more annoyed the more I read on these cowboys!!!!0

Debt collection agencies are just private citizens they have no right of entry into your house. Only Bailiffs (who are Officers of the Court) have this right and then only after a court-order has been granted. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Hi,
Just thought I would share my experience.
Back in Feb I got illegally towed and followed the procedure on the site. All went to plan and I won by default against Park Direct Ltd.
However, once you have gone through all the issuing judgement and warrant (at cost to you) you may have found, like me, that Park Direct then just decide not to pay up regardless of threat.
Though there were options available to me, most required more fees, and no guarentees that you'll get the money back. The said they were applying to re-open the case, and set aside the judgement, but this turned out to be just delaying.
In the end, I went to a company called Harley and Legal who are sepcialist debt recoverers. I found them very very helpful, and took the hassle of chasing Park Direct away. They also, as a registered legal firm, have a lot more clowt when it comes to threatening bank freezes or high court summons. They also ring them every day and send letters. They do take a fee (which is pretty small seeing as it's now Aug and the amount of further time I would have had to spend).
To cut it short, after a couple of weeks of Harley chasing them, they paid up in full. Great!
As an epilogue, I feel it's pretty crap that in this country, there's all these legal procedures you can do to protect you from rogue traders (private parking people), yet once they have told the company to pay up, you have no more real support from the courts or legal system. But there is a silver lining when there's companies like Harley and Legal who don't have a minimum debt to take on (mind was just under £500). They also know all the tricks the debtors try to pull. I highly recommend them.

I was about to reply to my demand for payment for a parking fine issued in my free staff car park because my permint had fallen off the dash. I really don't know which is the route to go. How many people out there haven't replied and not recieved any consequence? Also, It was not a pay and display car park, as I said, it was a staff car park only though we had to have permits, is this enough basis for them to drop the charge anyway? They stated my fault as 'Parking in a pay and display car park without a valid pay and display ticket'.0

Ignore them, you are a valid user so they will not be able to do a thing. On the various sites I look at thousands have gone this route and things went quiet after a few months, I have only heard of about 5 cases where the ppc has taken someone to small claims court and its very uncertain if these were real ones or just a ppc put up job to frighten a lot more waverers into paying.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

that's amazing thank you. My mind was put at rest when I first read Martin's rticle, its even calmer now 'cos I don't have to do anything with my half day off! Just to check, NCP is a private company right? I know it's a very large, nationwide one which concerns me. When they say private they just mean not council yes?0
-
The only time I have heard of NCP being legit is when its sub-contracted by a council or by a railway company, even then they often falsely say they represent a rail co. when they are just a PPC. Hopefully others will confirm my assertions.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I work at a railway station. Does that make a difference? The real kick in the teeth is that this car park is being built over now and I'm having to pay them up to 7 pounds a day anyway in the alternative car park!! Also, I had no chance to appeal as I gave it to the station manager who said it would get sorted. I then went on holiday a week later and on my return was given it back saying it was not going to be waived, after the 14 day limit on appeals. (I probably should've posted this all in one!!) Also my mums unsure too, saying that I could just believe anyone who tells me good news, are you to be trusted?!! (I'm sure you are, but convince my mummy)0
