I must say that some of these private parking companies have delusions of grandeur. This from a Euro Car Parks ticket:-

Unauthorized Removal or Interference is Prohibited

Who do these people think they are? the council or the police?

It would be interesting to see what Euro would actually do if they saw somebody removing their toilet paper. Issue them with yet another unenforceable invoice? I would like to see that go to court!

    So in summary...ignore, ignore, ignore.

Car, town, colour, weather, location, day of week, time of day, duration, name of scammer, name of car park owner, store's name, reason for parking, name of solicitor, month, day of week, photos, CCTV, signage, size of paper, PCN name used, plastic envelope used, signed, computer generated/printed, hand-written....none of these make a blind bit of difference.....

    It's a matter of one word...ignore.

Further to my posting above, we seem to have another PPC (Central Ticketing) who think they have the same status as the police or the council. Hence this on their parking tickets:-

"It is an offence for an unauthorised person to remove or interfere with this notice"..

Criminal damage, no. - By just removing the notice from the car, no damage would be caused.

Theft, no. - The parking company do not "own" that notice (they have "given" it to the motorist) so they cannot accuse anyone of stealing it from them.

    A bit OT but....

Criminal damage - wasn't there a thing whereby the scooter riders in London were covering their numberplates with carrier bags...and the traffic wardens 'couldn't' take the bags off to give them a ticket????

Theft, surely it's their's until the motorist 'accepts' it??

[BTW anyone know if is it theirs or their's??]

Don't forget we are talking about a private parking company here, and not the council or the police. Just as you are liberty to remove an advertising flyer that's been lodged behind your windscreen wiper, then you are allowed to remove these bits of useless paper called "private parking charge notices".

You are giving to much credence to these scammers, they have no offical standing at all.

    Hi All,
I have just had a letter from Excel parking to say that our appeal letter against their £60 PCN had been unsuccessful.Sadly I had not read the forum before responding to their initial demand.
My wife and I had parked in a Chorlton(Manchester) car park and had realised we were 5 pence short of the parking rate.We had a search around the care to see if there was anything under seats,no luck in the search so I left my wife and daughter in the car while I went to get change at a nearby shop.I returned to the car park and bought a ticket for two hours parking.Excel sent us a letter saying that we had incurred a £60 penalty for not displaying a valid ticket, their letter shows photos of the car entering and leaving the car park with a duration of 71 mnutes. We wrote to them an explained that we had bought a ticket for 2hours and had displayed it but that had been delayed as the machine does not take payment via card or notes. It is coin operated only and I had to get change.
The reply I received says that we exceeded the grace period as payment is to be made on entering the car park and this is clearly displayed.I do not know what the grace period is but as our payment more than covered the length of our stay so it should be irrelevant.I would appreciate thoughts of others,I have no intention of paying this ridiculous fine it goes up to 100 in 14 days apparently the possible court action.
By saying that we exceeded the grace period surely they are acknowledging that a ticket was purchased and there demand is outrageous.
I would appreciate thoughts of others.

Once again. it's not a "fine", it's an invoice. From now on do not contact them again and ignore any correspondence from them. It will never go to court as the only money they can claim back from you is the cost of that "overstay", Which probably amounts to a couple of quid, nothing more.

My local Aldi supermarket car park is operated by parkingeye and I never bother to get a ticket when I am shopping as I know that they cant do anything anyway but I am disappointed that I haven't had a letter yet 'cos I am really looking forward to ignoring them and then calling their solicitors with the final letter and asking them which court to met them at.
On another note I spend all day at work trawling customers credit files and in 5 years I have never seen an unpaid parking charge registered against anyone. Never ever, and I get through about 18,000 credit files a year.
