We Dads don't listen, we know everything. LOLI'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Real shame your dad coughed-up sarah;
A friend of mine became acquainted with this same bunch of jodrells last year & asked my advice which of course was IGNORE, IGNORE & once again IGNORE.
We were both very disappointed that after only 5 increasingly scary letters (also threatening the £3 a day cr*p) received over a similar number of weeks, they just simply gave up & nothing heard from them since.0 -
I got a ticket in a train car park from the rail operator (MerseyRail) do they count as private?
They talk about byelaws and stuff, all very (intentionally) confusing.0 -

These are more difficult. Do they say anything about appealing to maggies court or do they give a postal address?
Suggest that you start your own thread as this could get complex.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
Hi, I received a 'Parking charge notice' from TPS parking solutions at a small retail parking area in wrexham. I parked and left within the time allowed of 2 hours but it says I was there for about 4 hours! I was advised by a friend that they had the same problem in chester and looked on here so here I am. what a nightmare and stressful!0

There is nothing to worry about. Just ignore any correspondence from the company and do not contact them. They will eventually lose interest in you. For reassurance please read the other threads on here that deal with private parking.
These private parking companies are always making "mistakes" over the times people park. Some people might say that's deliberate to try and screw money out of people.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Do parking tickets from the likes of Morrisons count as private parking tickets? Is it advisable to just ignore these?0

Yes of course, usually in the guise of a company like Euro Car Parks or something similar.
It's easy to tell. A Council one has a Council logo and calls it a Penalty Charge whereas a private one 'should' call it a Parking Charge (if they use the word Penalty it makes no difference, you must still ignore it). PPC tickets are a SCAM.
I got my ticket last year in a Supermarket car park, they are notorious for allowing these scum-bags on their land - whose goons haven't the first clue about fairness/customer service/the Disability Discrimination Act. I ignored it all of course and after a few laughable letters they crawled back under their stone & pursued easier mugs.
It's all about extorting money, don't fall for their fake PCNs or scary 'debt collector' letters! :mad:PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Most of the retail car parks seem to be 'managed' by PPCs. There was a case here recently of a disabled guy writing to his MP to assist him in having a £110 charge cancelled for parking outside B&Q and straddling a white line. A few yards away there were 100s of free spaces, so B&Q and these scam merchants couldn't exactly say they had suffered any loss whatsoever. When he managed to get the charge revoked, the MP was applauded in the local press for getting the 'FINE' cancelled. It's just a pity our honourable members and the press don't understand the legality of the word 'fine' in relation to these scams.0
