Do you know of such a site? I'd be interested to see what you mean?

I always look for a space near to some pavement if possible, pull half into the space but not so far I can't open the back door, lift the baby seat out and place on the pavement, pop back in the car and move it forward the last half a car length. Its a minor pain and sometimes other drivers have to wait a moment, no helping that. I suppose some people would use the excuse they would worry about someone snatching the baby or something. But usually I can keep an eye on her. Baby and seat are heavy - I am confident I could catch someone a few feet away in a sprint!
Anyway, I would not pay the 'fine' either, but learn a lesson from it and leave it at that. Like spam email and scam websites, this is another form of leaching off society that the sooner its made unviable the better.0 -

common sense approaches are not welcome here :rotfl:0 -
I always park in an ordinary space, and always have done. (Even with 4 children and a people carrier.) I really don't see what the big deal is. Some people really seem to struggle through daily life, don't they?0

I'm still intrigued to hear about these websites with all the morally challenged, ignorant people. Just can't wait! Maybe I'll qualify?
I suspect though that 'chappy' is not at all 'happy' and can't back up such a suggestion!
ooooh - i remember one! Helped me get off my one and only ever speeding ticket! Now that can't be right can it - surely it must have been my fault and i must have cheated in some way??????? LOL
68mph in a 50 zone. i know of two others @ 77mph and 81mph who also were not prosecuted. Got it yet 'happy' ?

I can add two to the list, Neil B.
39 in a 30 and 48 in a 30. How did we "get away" with it?0 -
I don't know what to do in all honesty I don't want to pay it because it seems ridiculous and unfair but I am also a very sensitive soul who will worry myself to death over scary letters and not be able to sleep until it's paid.
Firstly, you shouldn't have parked in a disabled bay - end of story really. However, you will need to respond to the notice (before anyone jumps down my throat I have had lots of experience with parking tickets and have won every single one of them). Write to them and politely say that you were unable to find a parent and child parking space as you have a child seat you thought that you would utilise a wider parking space. You can ask them to be lenient.
I was there the weekend before last and found that the only place that I was prepared to park was on the old MFI site (there doesn't seem to be a pay and display machine on it). It is only a short walk down to the main shopping centre. Mind, there is another alternative - don't shop at Merry Hill.
Unfortunately, Westfield have started to charge for parking on the Merry Hill site because of a government directive. They charge according to government guidelines too - our greedy government seems to think that £60 is fair.0 -
I live 2 mins walk from merry hill, so yes i do walk unless i have to collect alot or heavy stuff.
I had to go and collect something from argos so i waited 35 mins to get a space. At no point did i consider going into a disabled space.
There is a pick up point there and 1 ignorant, arrogant woman came back to her car with armfuls of shopping bags, from all over the centre.
She placed it all in the boot and walked off , i stated that this was a pick up area and she shouted back "well now i'm going to pick up my shopping" and walked back into the centre.
People are causing chaos for us who live here by parking on pavements and verges etc
They even park in my street.
There are parent spaces and also everyone forgets about the rear car parks(by debenhams etc) maybe that is too far.
Also there is a bus station if parking is too much of a problem.0 -

I wouldn't risk that sorry!!0 -
What, and save them the trouble of proving who was driving, so making it easier for them to take you to Court? Not a very sensible idea. Oh, and ask them to be lenient - I bet the money-grubbing shaved chimps in the portakabin will have a good laugh at that, just before they send out the template letter saying "appeal rejected - now pay up or we'll send the boys round".... Write to them and politely say that you were unable to find a parent and child parking space as you have a child seat you thought that you would utilise a wider parking space. You can ask them to be lenient. ...
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.0
