... where the laws of the jungle rule ...
No, just the Law of England & Wales. You know, the one that some Police officers seem to find inconvenient when it doesn't suit their purposes.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

So do I take it in your blinkered views and bitterness towards the judicial system you have no answer for the simple question of who polices the ignorant in society ?

Bargepole you do realise with all your experience at the bar  that this isn't a police matter.

No answer then as to how this chavvy kind of thinking and behaviour is challenged. oh well back to the law of the jungle

"Car parks chockerblock, just hope ten more ignorant people like me dont park here as well, otherwise grandad's in trouble, anyway, who gives a stuff?
  • as you dont mind a walk was this the only car park in the area?

Firstly - I did try other car parks there and there were free spaces but I would not have been able to get the carseat out the car.

Secondly - I went on a Tuesday because I thought it would be quiet and I would be able to park at a far end space on an end so I have plenty of room like I normally do. But it was really really busy!

Thirdly - Calm down people, I have told the truth if you decide not to believe me then that is up to you. But abuse is not really needed it's not like I killed anyone is it

Maybe Merry Hill need to think about providing some parent & baby spaces - and before people rant about me being lazy they can be farthest away for all I care they just need room on both sides to get baby in and out of the car - safely.
  • how do other people manage?

The information you are giving is not quite true, there are parent and child spaces at Merry Hill near the Sainsburys and ASDA and also on the top of the old multi storey car park.

Recently there have been LOADS of signs put up advising you will be fined if you don't park in the correct bay. Unfortunately, I have no sympathy.
  • I read in a paper last week sometime that merry hill are clamping down on cars not parked properly etc so probably why u got a ticket

But private parking companies can't issue fines, so if they are putting up signs like that they are committing fraud. And their chances of winning if they took you to Court would be about the same as Osama Bin Laden turning up dressed as Santa in Selfridges.
