I love Nandos one of my favourite places to eat out, ive never had bad service etc.

But like others have stated you really should check first before you eat something, i have allergies to certain food and always check first before eating the food brought out.
Also to the person who has allergies to chillies - if your allergies are that bad you should ask for the list of ingredients for the food as the menu doesn't state all the ingredients - restaurants/fast food places have to have a list detailing what is in ever item they sell, as my sister has a bad nut allergy and we always ask for the ingrediants list before placing an order.

I think though that the OP is as much at fault as is the restaurant - lifes to short to moan over the little things just put it down to experiance and move on.

I wont go near them, their customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

Im alergic to chillies and check any menu carefully before ordering. Thought I was safe when I ordered a beefburger and in it there was chillies, thankfully i had antihistimines on me and didnt have as sever a reaction as i could have but it still ment a trip to the emergency room. The manager basically said why are you in a mexican restaurant when your allergic to chillies!!!

definetly avoid them!! complain to head office, i got £50 quid worth of vouchers for my next visit that i ended up giving away to family.
well he wernt wrong minus the mexican part of course!!

didnt u think to ask first?!
  • I'm a bit of a fussy eater & always check food. I to think the op should have really noticed.
  • i'm a vegetarian and understand how you must have felt but maybe you are going over the top a bit as a vegetarian i dont really go to these places as like one poster said they cook the food with meat...

these things happen it happened to me a few wks ago when i was buying food for the kids party and got pasties from the bakery, ordered cheese ones they give me meat ones, bit in to it nearly threw up, went bk to the shop
got a free bag of cheese pasties so was happy enough.
  • We find Nandos Chiquitos Las Iguanas etc are very good if you tell them exactly what you want, or rather what you do not want.

Due to health reasons there are several things my wife cannot or must not eat. BUT she always checks before eating just in case an error is made(people are actually only human)
  • I ordered a Peperoni pizza in once. Just imagine my disgust as when I went to take a bite I found that it had Cheese and peppers and onions on it!!

I was nearly sick - I did not order any vegetables, I only wanted peperoni as I have a serious vegetable allergy!! I never look at what I put in my mouth which caused me a great deal of embarrassment when we had a picnic down the park - I thought I had picked up a sausage!!

I am thinking of sending them a text to complain so I don't exceed their character limit.
  • Hi, does anyone have the Nando's Lemon Pudding Recipe? I am completely addicted, put at £3.50 a pop on a daily basis (it is REALLY good!) its getting a bit expensive
    Thanks

  • Im a vegetarian and as much as i resent some of the rudeness people have exhibited on here, i do agree with the underlying point.

Mistakes happen, and as a veggie you have to be very careful if you are not eating in veggie restaurants. Recently, i ordered a three bean chilli and was served the meat version. Luckily, i noticed (and im sorry, but its harder to notice the difference between quorn and meat than it is to notice a giant lump of beef) and the resturant changed it with no fuss.

Sorry, but chalk it down to experience and move on. I have been in Nandos (contrary to popular belief us veggies have non-veggie friends and family which we occationally like to socialise with) but i didnt eat anything as i dont think even the utensils were vegetarian friendly. And yes, i am a "serious" vegetarian (no meat, no seafood, no bi-products)

I can kind of understand where the OP is coming from - but surely (speaking as someone who was vegetarian for many years) you would double check the food first? A similar thing happened to me in Burger King once - me and a friend ordered a spicy beanburger, but when we came to eat it, they were both chicken. The guy was ever so apologetic, and got extra food and a refund. The point I'm trying to make is that mistakes happen, and if you were veggie, has food allergies or whatever, I'd check what I was eating first.

    Love Elaine xxx
