Nandos

As most people have said, it was a mistake which they apologised for. I'm not sure what else they could have done? I'm not sure how anybody could put something in their mouth without checking it first  They'll probably send you some vouchers now but i'm guessing you wouldn't eat there again?? (I'll have them
)
I completely disagree with pinkshoes comment about vegetarians not eating in Nando's, that's crazy! They have veggie options as to not exclude people.
Personally I LOVE Nandos, we eat there a lot and we have never had any bad service or anything. My MIL did go once to the one in the Printworks and was kept waiting so long she complained and they gave her some vouchers (which the OH and I happily used)

It's portuguese, not mexican.
I didn't realise Nandos served beef. I'll have to look out for that next time as I prefer beef to chicken. Here I go again on my own....0 -
I would like to add tho, as bexfizz is a newbie, please don't be put off by the (maybe?) harsh comments, we are a friendly bunch
And MSE is very useful so please do keep posting.

Why on earth a vegetarian would choose a chicken restaurant to eat in is beyond me!!
especially one that uses the same grills and utensils for dealing with meat and (so called) veggie options ... i am vegetarian due to a serious meat allergy and i would not eat in nandos.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0 -
I cannot eat cheese but cheese seems to be in everything these days but I always make sure, double check, triple check and confirm that there is no cheese. I think it is as much as your fault as theirs0

Well at least you'll never be caught in a mousetrap.
I have to say, OP, that I spend a lot of time on the vent boards confronting the Rude Squad about their unhelpfulness.
But I am actually with them on this one. Restaurants, even good ones, make mistakes with orders. Check what's on your plate before you eat it. If it's something enclosed, like a pie or a wrap or a pitta, take a quick peek inside. By the way, I don't eat in Nando's, is a veggie pitta similar-looking to a steak roll?
If I were a vegetarian, I would be even more vigilant and cut open everything I was ever served if it was really important to me.
You got an incorrect order, complained and were looked after. What more could they do? They probably didn't ask after you because they probably thought you were tough enough to deal with a simple error. And when, in the confusion, they ran off with your corn and ratatouille, you should simply have asked them to replace it.0 -
I really like the bean pitta from nandos even though I am not a vegetarian.... Why should a vegetarian avoid nandos?!
Because they cook the vege stuff on the same grills and cooking plates as they cook the meat!
They also do this in many pubs and other restaurants.
The restaurant I used to work in certainly did!!
A "serious" vegetarian wouldn't set foot in that sort of establishment, and should certainly avoid all grilled and fried options from most menus in pubs!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
