I just have to wave bye bye to my 1987 8v Astra 2l GTE (87,000 genuine miles). I'll be sad to see her go but the OH will be glad she hates it lol
You want to look on https://www.astra-mk2.com
I had a 1990 2.0 8v GTE for 5 years and it was great once I'd sorted the suspension out properly. I used to go out on Evo car forum scenic drive meets in it and annoy Boxsters etc.

  • Well I'm not technically minded. The two things that were up with this F2 evo are rear washer not working and the front fogs not working.

The rear washer I'm not bothered about as it will either be a blockage or the pump (£20 from a hyundai dealer). The fogs are a bit of a concern as although I'm guessing it will be something simple like a fuse etc I'm guessing it could be something that might 'cost'.

Could any of the technically minded out there give a view please :)

Fuse would be first thing. Then relay. Can't be anything too big. You don't need front fogs anyway. We call them "twatlights".

  • Yes realise that. I never use fogs on a vehicle. I was just wary incase it could lead to anything major in the electrics.

I doubt it will be anything major.

Nice astra Tom, wouldn't mind the cav's around it though, esp the silver one.

Compliments on a V. clean engine bay

  • This was posted on another forum :

Please be aware that the trade price (P/Xvalue) of the car in question is £2800, with average mileage..... (12K for the first 3 years & 9K thereafter)...... & in first-class condition , with full service history).

Furthermore, the actual power-gain over the normal 2.0 SE Coupe is only 4/5 b.h.p., as the improvements Hyundai planned (over & above the different intake cam-profile) NEVER HAPPENED)!.

Don`t pay more than a couple of hundred £`s extra for these cars!.

By the way, the trade now puts any (non-exotic) car, which does not have the new-style registration, into `banger` territory........i.e. franchises do not put P/X`s onto their forecourts......they despatch them straight to auction!.

    Food for thought!

Any thoughts on the above. As most people reckon the price I originally posted was a good one

Well i had that very model for 3 years and it was the best car i ever owned (i went to and Audi after for 2 years) Totally reliable in my experience and i know that cos i sold it on to my best mate and she still has it.Lets face it after all that time there are not many cars in that price range that look that good.

PS After the audi I bought this!!

So I would say go for it but maybe im biased!!
