Okay, advice needed. I've never had to take anything back in Boots, as I have a hide like a rhino normally. However I bought two boxes of these Umberto Giannini Spa Rituals for hair on 2-4-£6, tried one and my scalp is still itching several days later. So, questions...

1)I can take both the complete and the part used box back if I'm allergic to them, yes? I think so yes, though some SAs will argue to only take the unused box back.

    2) Where exactly do you go for refunds? Our store only has the big line of main tills plus pharmacy/photogrphy/cosmetic counters. Do you just go to the main tills? I just go to the first SA I see, and also if they have security as you enter the shop, I always tell them too.

    3) I don't have the receipt but I assume they'll only give me back the £6. I'm certainly not going to lie about them being on the offer. Or do they automatically give you the current store price? You can explain the offer and they may refund this, usually its just whatever it scans at, at the time.

    4) If you don't have the reciept then do they give you a gift card instead? I'm okay about that but I don't mind them looking at my AC for recent purchases. Nothing to hide there. I've never had anything put on a giftcard, always been told that you have to do a straight exchange to the value of the returned goods, though you can use it as money of your shop. So say you returned £6 worth of goods, and there was something you wanted for £10, you could offset the refund against the £10 item, then only pay £4 iyswim.

    5) I got an extra 100ACM points for buying an UG product. I presume they'll want these back? I would assume so, they usually ask for your ad card.

    6) I'm intending to just say "Bought these, they make me itch like crazy. I'd like to return them." Is that enough? Seems fine to me, though I have heard people say that when taking things back to a store because of a reaction, they have been told to contact CS.

I just like to know the drill so I can sweep in confidently. In my experience some SAs will eat you alive if you display the slightest sign of doubt over the store refund procedure, lol. All input welcome!

;) Yeah, should work hunni...last time I had something refunded was when the JK nail files were £2 each but 500pts for two...the item I returned was £10 so I got 6 files, and pay the extra £2 quid, but got 1500 back lol ...was taking the item back anyways...but the only thing I had in my basket was the files, and the SA wouldn't allow me the refund onto a giftcard...insisted I used it on the files  :rotfl:

ok cool. I do have my reciept, but I bought this £20 item on an xmas night and I dont want them to take away my bonus points, so I was gonna say no reciept, no AC... I dunno if I'd keep them with the reciept or not, I'm actually spending more lol...

I don't know to be honest, about taking things back and bonus points  I've never returned anything I bought with bonus points so unsure as to what would happen?

    [snipped]

Personally I wouldn't mention this as it was a glitch and not really part of the offer as such.
  • ive got some of the UG stuff to return but its not complete as ive used one of the viles and binned what was left (horrible stuff, i ended up with an itchy head, greasy hair and it made my head ache ??)

is it worth ringing CS first ?? will they sort it without going back to store ?

Just noticed a freebie on the Grabbit board from rosieprimrose, a big Thanks to her.

    "Grazia 8 December £1.90

Free Origins Ginger Body Cream (like this but in a tube) to be claimed worth £10 (100ml)!

You need to take page 131 to an Origins counter or store for a head massage and arm and hand massage and then you will receive the body cream. The offer is limited and only available from 2-9th December."

Only a short time to get this one, it's available in stores with an Origins counter, including several Boots, sadly none near me.

List of stores here (to see all stores select "All locations" from the drop down menu)

Head, arm and hand massage, bring it on :D

Are u reading Grazia at 6am :rotfl:

  • Hi

I'm new so please be gentle!!

I bought the MaxFactor Minerals foundation (12.71) and thought I'd see if the GWP would go through even though I hadn't spent £15 and it didn't beep so the SA popped it in the bag anyway. It was the little black glittery bag with foundation, nail varnish, lipstick & eyeliner.

If anybodys brave they could maybe see if it goes through even if you don't buy anything from MF.

I tried it with Loreal but that beeped as I had only spent 9.99 so she didnt give me that one.

There's a point. Which means even if they only refund me for the unopened one I'm still ahead of the game.

Also good point about asking security as I go in as to where to do returns, plus being ready to do a straight swap for other shopping. Would rather have a credit note to use in the sale though!!
