Brrrrrrrrr its flaming freezing here. I wish I had put the heating timer on earlier for when I came home from work. I haven't really warmed up since I came home. Am sitting here with a cuppa to see if that will warm me up. I am going up to bed soon to watch TV, it will be warmer up there. I knew it would happen, I have caught the cold that has been going round. Was hoping I would avoid it for my trip to Manchester at the weekend grrrrrrrrrrrrr. Although Moliere's LO's problems puts things like that into perspective. Hope you hear good news soon Moliere.

On a trip to Ikea the other week I bought a pack of their frozen meatballs. Had some of them with spaghetti tonight, they were lovely. At least 2 more servings for the 3 of us still in the freezer for another time. Have a good night all

    Good evening everyone :hello:

PippaS - I hope that things are resolved swiftly and painlessly.

mioliere - am thinking about the little girl and her family.

(((hugs))) to all those that are in need.

My mum had her lumpectomy on Monday and I popped up to see her afterwards. She looked really "poorly", lying there in her hospital bed. When I went yesterday, she was much "better" and more with it - well, as with it as she can be . My dad doesn't seem to realise that she is unable to do anything for a while. I gave him a good talking to last night, but goodness knows what went into his little brain. A chocolate teapot is what he is as useful as........... I'm going up on Friday night to cook them a meal (he asked for a rib of beef, which he expects me to cook after a full day at work and then driving for 70 miles! I think not!!!).

DH is currently suffering from "man flu". He's asked me to tell you all. Fingers crossed he survives   ;) Fingers crossed, he doesn't give it to me!

Supper tonight was a bit of a store cupboard root around. I'd forgotten to get anything out of the freezer this morning, so we had a tuna pasta type thing made to my own recipe. It resembled something that I used to cook at uni when I was on the last amount of money for the term. It was tasty, I have to say!

I've got loads of Christmas cards to write. I did some the other night, but I need to crack on with the ones that need to be sent overseas!

Post 142 has a nut roast recipe :) Never made it myself though. In general the thread has a lot of good ideas and recipes so you mind find that helpful.

Hope everyone is ok, take care and keep warm
  • hi everyone, sorry to hear so many people are having a hard time in some way shape or form. worst time of year for it. not like there's ever a good time for bad news.
i got ten batches of different flavours of cookie dough made for the freezer today, made home made curry, with spaghetti. for a change. loads of washing done, oh cleaned the bathroom. took little one to the shop for a walk and some fresh air. nearly fell on my bum umpteen times!!! :rotfl:
little one was convinced someone at the shop was his big bro and as a result, wouldn't stop shouting at the poor lad. lol.:rotfl:luckily he found it funny.
i'm shattered, think it'll be bed time shortly.
tomorrow i plan to get yet more washing done, re-organise some of my kitchen cupboards as it's getting impossible to find anything. desperately trying to get the house right for xmas. still haven't got any presents bought and to be honest don't know how i can possibly afford any. mega stressed out. seems like i'm permanently on the verge of tears,_pale_ so trying to keep busy. hopefully something will come up. hope things improve for everyone. take care.
