  • Mioliere - thinking of you and your friend.

And hugs all round - it seems to be a rather challenging time.

Little bear is turning round and round and round and rand and round while eating a segment of a finger of fudge. This does not bode well.

I spoke to the Health Visitor as I didn't feel well enough to go to play group tomorrow. That is perhaps just as well as due to the weather forecast they are cancelling all non urgent visits. So I struggled out with little bear so that he could have some fresh air, and it was so slippery, I felt like I was pushing a bobsleigh. We went yards and yards! I have a delivery due tomorrow from Mr S, I do hope that they will be able to make it.

But, notwithstanding, I am here to ask about an OS matter. Little bear has spilled nearly a litre of milk over an upholstered sofa. I have just re-stocked with stardrops but any other suggestions welcome.

Just a quick one as I am running late, WS, you will need an antibacterial (sp) spray for the spilt milk, my dd did the same when she was young, and I was advised to use this, milk has bacteria in it and you need an anitbac spray to combat it.

Kathy, I am too keeping your young relative in my thoughts, how terribly hard for all involved, hugs xx

Aussie, thanks for the recipe, they sound delish, will get the ingredients and try it out next week xx

    Afternoon all,
DH had his E.C.G. and all was well. Instead of shopping we drove the pretty way home as I wanted to pop into a farm shop for their delish pork and stilton sausages.
I noticed all the berries on the hedges so we stopped and collected them, don't know the name of them, they're on twines that are a parasitic plant. I use them for decorations along with holly and ivy. I am going to start the swags for the inglenooks but will leave the greenery until I'm ready to hang them. Tomorrow we will go down by the breens and get some teasells (sp) I have collected fircones over the year which I wire together to go along the beams.
It takes me 3 or 4 days to decorate but I love the end result.

SUNNYDAY, We always have real trees, Saw off about an inch or so and stand in a bucket of water pref 2 days (the tree not you;) ) We always try to get a blue spruce, or Norland type tree and hardly have any needles to clear up. We have those tree stands from B&Q that can hold water, a mug a day is fine. A little tip I used was to spray hairspray on the branches a day before erecting.

Many thanks Mummysaver, Ashia and Eror for the suggestions.
For xmas eve I'll do a veg pie for veggies, roast lamb for meat eaters, loads of veg and different gravy for each.
For xmas day I'll go for the nut roast, EROR if you have a recipe I'd be so gratefull. Turkey for others.
Boxing day, honey glazed gammon, bubble&squeak, quorn slices, (broc, leek &cauli cheese already in the freezer). Phew, worn out thinking of it all.

DH has gone to put bins out at DF's house then go for a pint and has kindly opened a bottle of wine
just incase I fancy one later  as he knows I can't do it with a gammy hand.

Hope you're all warm or soon will be. x

As Redruby says, you need an antibacterial spray/liquid, something like Milton sterilisng fluid/tablets should do the job. Otherwise the sofa is going to stink in a few days time, its the bacteria that make the smell & they will remain even if you have wiped all the milk up.

    hello everybody,
I am late again, dont feel like much of anything today ,so worried.

I wanted to stay in and wait for a phone call, but we had promised to take Mum shopping today and she has been looking forward to it, so I did'nt want to disappoint her.
Then we took her for lunch she really enjoyed it, that was the main thing.

sistercas No nothing from the bank yet, I hope they get it sorted soon, £1880 is a lot of money.Fraud were supposed to be ringing me within 24hrs, which is about now.

Rage in Eden and Diva What a formidable duo I am sure between you it would soon be sorted, who would stand a chance with those Paddington stares ;) xx

Kathy O the poor little one, its awful when the LO's are poorly.I hope she gets over this virus, I remember you saying that she got enormous pleasure from buttons and beads. I will remember you all in my prayers xx

Thank you all for being so....kind and supportive .....you're lovely you lot are :T

Hi everyone, really late posting today been shopping to Killarney and all the shops are spread out so Im just having a cuppa. So sorry to hear about the little one mioliere hope things improve for you all.
Have to tell Tru this one. I have a cat tray in the porch for the night time ( poor thing is only allowed in there as DH is allergic to him), anyway I came down this morning and was rushing to get organised with kids school etc and then wanted to set off early. I noticed the tray had a huge present for me in there, so as it was dry decided to leave it outside till I got back. We recently painted the postbox as we have no letterbox so when I got home the litter tray was on the step and underneath was all the mail!!!!!! Poor postie  I thought I'd be home before he arrived. I'll be embarrased when I see him next:embarasse

Thinking of the little girl and her family and hoping things improve.

    Money saving Diva

Sorry you don't see your nephews and hope things change for the better.

Saw DDs off this morning and went to lie down for half a hour - woke up at 11 o'clock!!!!!!

Got some washing done and made DH and me a huge bacon and cheese omelet for lunch and then made a massive lasagne with veggie mince. Everyone enjoyed it and have two (or maybe 3) portions in the fridge for tomorrow.

DH not very happy as he has to go to London for a meeting tomorrow and stay overnight.

Finally got round to straining and bottling the elderberry syrup I made over a month ago. It should come in useful for coughs and colds.

Hugs to everyone that could do with one.

    Evening Everyone

Moliere-A real tragedy about the little girl and I really hope she improves quickly

a chilled out sort of day here with a lot of shopping a little cleaning and a very little bit of cooking as I cheated with tea and used up some leftover curry for the kids and I had bought one of the £3 asda curry meals for 2 so hubby had one of the curries and the kids had the rice and naan breads included in the pack with their curry.Easy peasy and very little washing up!

Snow is forecast overnight here but I seriously doubt it will arrive. If it does I wont be sending the kids to school as the school has informed us they dont intend to shut the school unless they lose power and as the pavements are covered in sheet ice already a layer of snow will make them lethal
