Sugarspun sorry to hear you are back on bedrest I hope things are improving for you. Well done everyone with all your jobs, I keep chilling with the family instead of doing Christmas chores!! Although Christmas cake is started and have swept lounge and tidied it up so doing some chores!
We all had a great time at the panto today, Bradley Walsh was the star and we really laughed!! Parking was acrually really easy so was a plesant surprise. Also popped into gamesuperstore (think that's what it's called!??) and I distracted DS while hubby sought the advice of the sales person re warhammer kit for a 7 year old beginner! He managed to smuggle a present out the shop and when I checked he's spent £44!!!! At leasr DS will have his warhammer now still need to get the paint tho!!!0 -

Had a lovely day, have to confess had a lie in......not gd, but took dd to an Ice cream farm by Chester, had a fab time, I had the most gorgeous icecream, christmas pudding, and dd had baileys icecream.
Then hit Tesco on the way home only coz I wanted the 3 for £20 drinks offer, one of our xmas visitors only drinks Stella, and luckly it was in with the offer.
Panto tomorrow, thanking dd, mum and dad, then be mad packing ready for Chester on Mon.
Rack your brains, we're haveing a family debate whether we should get the postman an xmas prezzie / £5 tip.......... he's only been on the round 3 mths. What does everyone else think.xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Where's the ice cream farm? I want to go there!!
I would maybe leave the postman some chocolate, but not a fiver.
Thanks everyone for good wishes. I wish we were past the scary part, although I suspect that won't happen till the kid's an adult!Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Ok I've made my list;
Done:
All prezzies bought/made & wrapped (bar finishing touches to daughter's calendar)
spare bedroom ready for daughter who's staying over christmas night (except a quick vac)
To do before christmas:
vac spare room
tidy & clean up rest of house
grocery shopping
finish daughter's calendar & wrap
make table decoration
get chocs for milkman
visit brother-in-law in hospital & make sure sister-in-law is not on her own for christmas day
(And - stop trying to read all the posts on all the threads on MSE - just one more cup of tea, then I'll make a start - I think I'm hooked);)
To do for after christmas:
de-clutter
find more ebaying stuff & list
make a proper budget

Morning all!! Lazy start to the day here! Just about to go and make egg on crumpets!! quite nice to have a lazy day and tomorrow I'm looking after my friends 2 kids to help her out as childcare for 2 in a palyscheme is £50 a day!!!
Today I'm finishing off the Christmas cake but sadly the scales have broken so not sure what I'll be doing!!! Also definitely going to wrap more pressies up!! I quite like doing it tho and if lucky will get help from someone else!
Gotta go speak soon xxx0 -
furrypig could you get an American version and use cups instead?
I wouldn't leave my postman anything because he is miserable, I have seen him posting letters back into a postbox.. oh and because my post doesn't get here for a week or two.
Sorry I have been away so long everyone. I thought the flu had just come back but it has developed into a chest infection and I have felt absolutely rotten and panicked because I also have asthma. I am still battling to get Logans birthday ready for tomorrow. Travelling to my moms to pick the kids up and eat a sunday roast later.
How is every one doing with only 3 days left:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0 -
hope you feel better soon plm - DD has started a dreadful cough the last couple of days but at least it didn't keep her awake - why does xmas breed so many bugs!
lazy day here as well - was woken by OH on the at 9:45  on his way back from his work do in Newcastle - DD had only been awake 10 mins as well - bonus.
braved Somerfield (which was empty) mainly as new Tesco has just opened but went there as well and it wasn't too bad and have enough to last if [STRIKE]I can't be bothered[/STRIKE] the shelves are empty xmas eve when I pick meat up from butchers - only need enough for xmas day anyway.
Good luck to everyone with their last minute bits - am still wondering what I've forgotten not used to being relaxed :rotfl:Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Have been lurking for a while and have finally plucked up the courage to post!!
I had been keeping on top of things quite well but got a horrible bug last week which really knocked me for 6  I'm feeling a bit better today but now my bf has caught it
My to do list now looks like this:
Wrap presents (this seems endless! I've wrapped loads but still have a mountain of them still to do )
Write work Christmas cards
Hand deliver last of the cards to neighbours etc
Finish last 4 hampers
Drop off hampers to 2 friends
Ice and decorate Christmas cake
Make gingerbread house
Clean kitchen
Clean bathroom
Tidy spare room (currently full of hampers in various stages of being finished, and random presents all over the floor and bed )
My target is to cross 4 of these off my list by the end of today.
Jamtart- huge congrats on getting the house:j You must be mega excited
We've only just bought our first house- am soooo excited about having our first Christmas here
Right- off to do some more wrapping
Thanks for the super thread peeps- you've got me very motivated now as don't want to be on the naughty list :eek:0
