Mr winning smith, the way the credit builder option works is they give you a loan for 12 X the monthly fee(mine was 4.95) might of changed and the. Every month show a green tick and reduce the balance down, how you spend and top up hasn't a bearing at all on the credit report input. It helped me but how much is any ones guess, it all depends on your own history both in terms of credit and all the other questions asked on application forms.
Credit building takes time there is no quick easy fix.

Hi there,
We organised a CashPlus card so that one of our sons had access to money while he was abroad. There was, needless to say, no problem about paying money in. But, when our son tried to withdraw money in Germany using the correct PIN, it wouldn't release money. The card is now back in England and we requested a new PIN number, which arrived today. I've tried three different cash machines today - all bearing the MasterCard symbol. All of them rejected the card. So CashPlus have our money locked up with no way of our retrieving it. Great.
Please don't recommend this card to others, MSE!0 -
I recently got my wife a Pockit Card and put £100 on it however, she has not been able to use it in store or online or draw cash out on it.
Have tried calling, emailing, messaging on social media but no comeback as yet.
I am quite worried now. Any advise?
Anyone I can contact?0 -
I have added mine to my Paypal account then spend the money from there, online.
I dont use it in shops or withdrawal as this costs 99p.
You should be able to use it online just like any other mastercard?
I have also used it on Amazon.co.uk and used it to by gift cards for shopping online on Highstreetvouchers.comI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Banking & Borrowing, and Reduce Debt & Boost Income boards. However, they pay cashback on some in-store purchases. I keep mine for BnQ and Halfords mainly.
Thats very true, I only opened mine as I got a free £10 for a 99p punt....

Hi,
Does anyone recommend a card so an employee of mine can pay his wages into please?
A normal accouint is not feasable as he only has a birth certificate and no other ID.
Thanks

Cashplus is more like a bank account with its facilities, but there's no longer an option without the £5 monthly fee.Evolution, not revolution0 -

British citizens may also demonstrate their permission to work through their full UK birth or adoption certificate which includes the name(s)of at least one of their parents or adoptive parents, together with an official document giving their permanent National Insurance number and their name issued by a Government agency or a previous employer.
I've had a quick skim of a couple of banks, and if this is a young person then a letter from you as their employer, with a letter as outlined above, should get them there, although I suspect they would need to push a bit.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I'm requesting help and opinions from those that can help with my confusion - after reading the article and visiting the websites - I still can't understand the reason pockit was not listed as the Best Buy card over the optimum card.
I suspect many many people that have posted here, and that have read the article - are also choosing between these top two cards, so I'm sure that I'm prompting a valuable discussion.
Pockit have cash back for the initial purchase (moneysupermarket), plus cash back at major retailers. Also it has won multiple awards.
Optimum have loss/theft protection - I can't be sure about pockit. Optimum have £1 per call if anything goes wrong, but pockit seems to give poor customer service either way.
This card will be used for grocery shopping (exclusively), so all members of the household can pop out and get everyday groceries that might be needed. Max £200 pm.
I am grateful to any that will help us understand the real differences between the two.
