We have just done ours with a steam cleaner that we borrowed and it is like a whole new shower cubicle! Didn't realise it was so dirty until they were done with the steamer. I am now on the look out for a second hand one for my new house!
Out of curiousity which steam cleaner did you borrow? I was thinking of buying a hand held one for exsctly the same reason- for showers and tiles!0 -
Hi jollymummy,
We have an older thread on cleaning grout that should help so I've merged your thread with it to keep all the suggestions together.

Thanks for your help on this everyone. I got cracking on my grout yesterday with some bicarb of soda and bleach and an old toothbrush. My tiles look terrific. I'll just have to have a go at the floor next week and the manky shower curtain :-):hello:

Does anyone have any tips for cleaning tile grout?
I have tried a couple of sprays and creams, some have been semi-effective, tried a tile cleaner, tried vinegar, tried srubbing with a nail brush, tried vinegar..even tried soap powder....!
If something has worked well for you, please post! Thank you!I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Try a Grout Rake - very easy to use - skims the surface of the grout leaving a clean layer. You may have to re-grout in some places if the grout is loose - but you'd want to do that anyway.
This one's from Screwfix at £2.29
http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp?cId=A235353&ts=34987&id=17903
plus £6 delivery! So only if you need other things
But there must be others out there
Also - use bleach with a toothbrush to keep it white
and - paint on shoe whitener for stuborn stains.0 -
