Definitely bicarb, but I thought it was just a paste with water (should really keep a notebook handy when this is on!).
Steam cleaning is supposed to work very well. If you've a problem with bleach because of your asthma, an oxygen bleach such as Oxiclean would probably be better for you.0 -
The easiest way is to scrape out the old grout and apply some new! Grout is cheap, it's pretty easy to do, and takes under an hour.Rhiannon of Woolamai

it was just a mix of bicarb into a paste with pater, paste it over the grout and leave for ten minutes or so then rub off (with a toothbrush if necessary.) i'm def going yo give this a go.£2 saver club 30th sept 198 £2 coins = £396(£350 banked)0

Hi all, have black kitchen tiles and light grey floor grout , trouble is large patches of this have now got black and very greasy looking, it looks so obvoius because the patches where its clean are really noticeable.
before i get down on my hands and knees and have a good old scrub, has anyone got any reccomendations for what I can use?

I used to pour bleach down the lines and leave for a wee while before rinsing and it came up great.
We have just done ours with a steam cleaner that we borrowed and it is like a whole new shower cubicle! Didn't realise it was so dirty until they were done with the steamer.
