Vanquis down to £360 after paying £100 of, the interest is crippling horrible horrible card.

Ooh is there no way of getting a 0% card and transferring the balance or a loan or ANYTHING at a lower rate of interest to get shot of that one?

Wow - I am *so* impressed with you all! And those who have reached their target - fabulous!

I am very sorry to have gone AWOL for so long. I'm not going to go into the details of what happened. Suffice it to say have had work and home issues that have made it difficult to bring myself to come on here and which mean that there is no way I will make being debt free in 2009. In fact - won't be for a good few years now. I have been flailing round a bit over the past few months but am coming back into focus - have a budget, a new snowball, and a new DFD - July 2012  - debt is just under £20K.

So I won't be continuing with the challenge but I will stay to cheer everyone on - and I will be planning to reduce my debt this year! Things are still quite hectic so if anyone has been keeping track of things here and wants to post a new "update page" (just as a post) - I will change the front page to point to it. Am not sure I can catch things up!

Anyway - really sorry to run out - and glad to be back. I am so happy that you have kept this going - you are brilliant!

    Hey Mizmir,

Good to see you again, and glad your ok :D

I am not going to be debt free in 2009 either, i seem to have added to my debt recently rather than reducing it, but Im still going to give it a shot and if at least I manage to pay off my credit cards in 2009 and only have what I owe to my family left it will be such a good feeling!

    Paid off £250 today :D

Hi everyone especially those who won't make it to being debt free this year. You have done well whatever happens. Sometimes life throws hurdles which set us back a bit, as long as we get back up and keep going, we will win in the end. Best wishes and good luck for the future.
