    Hi

Am joining this challenge late as have just decided I want to have paid off my loan by the end of the year. It's only £1666 at the moment which isn't much but we are saving for a deposit so I want to put as much in that pot as I can too. However, I know that if I get this loan paid off I can start saving that money too.

    DFD is 16th June 2011 - aimed for 31st Dec 2009.

Haven't overpaid anything yet but am putting all spare money into a savings account - when I get the interest in April I will clear it out and pay it to the loan, and then see where I'm up to. £297 in the account so far since Dec 1st 2008 :T
    My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

Total £4151.44 | £2900.30 of £7051.74 paid off since diary started October 2024.

lilian1977 (ooh we're the same year of birth!) I'm doing the same - want to get this debt gone so OH and I can bump up our deposit! Depressing how much we need these days - I thought I'd saved it, but then it goes up x5!! :(
  • Made another loads of payments today and put some in my car debt savings.

It's not much as I'd hoped, because the 3% on the BT stacked up a bit, we had to go into the OD by £60 last month and my husband had some expenses for work. He'll get these back in a couple of weeks, but in the mean time it's all added to the debt.

    Paid off £439.08 today!
Nearly debt free....at last Roll on July 2010
