You can only ask, if you can find the transaction on a statement then that might be ok but yes id ask if that is sufficient

You say you have left the receipt in the house. Do you have a reward card thingy for GS? (geddit card I think) They may be able to check previous purchases using this if you used it when you bought the 360. I know Game do - the SA gives a quick call to HO and you're sorted.
Good luck -My DS's 360 is out of warranty and has the E74 problem too. His xbox is on the way to Germany as we speak, I just ticked the 3 RRD box because it is disgusting that M$ will not fix this problem too. It is a known manufacturing problem and as such is covered for 3 years in Holland, but not here?! Disgraceful!!
I thought it was worth the chance sending it off as worst case scenario is it is returned in same condition and he has only lost a couple of weeks. A trawl through many techie forums shows that M$ are inclined to either not check if returned 360s have 3rrd or that they will fix the E74 problems anyway.

Sorry, it is a gedit card (I spelled it wrongly :rolleyes: )

It's a loyalty card for Gamestation. I can't see anything on their website, but it is available in store. It doesn't give points, rather pence (money) so you don't need to wait and save up for a voucher (like game) you can get say, 73p off your purchase whenever you like so in that respect it is better than Game (you do only get 1% back rather than 2.5% Game give). there is also a draw you go into when you use it to get instant prizes (I've only won carp, but you can win consoles).

Well upshot is I rang my local store and manager said that if i produce a receipt i can have a new one (minus hard drive), so went to log in at gamestation.co.uk to check order history and print off the details and i tried 3 times to remember password and failed and account de-activated for security....rand them to explain and after waiting 45 mins on hold spoke to a woman who run my address thro and found all our details, explained the sit and she said she will send me an email with all details for me to print out and take to local store...but..she couldnt until tomorrow as her superior needed to sanction it and hes OFF today, so tomorrow with bit of luck i shall have details to take upto exchange and get a new spanky new one which will prob go down again in time for next christmas:rolleyes: . Now i am worried that getting new console back and putting DS hard drive on will not remove the prob as it MIGHT be the hard drive so i am going to make the Manager promiise me that if it is in fact ther case then i will have new COMPLETE system. Thats right isnt it? Didnt need all this after a night shift i can tell you lol.

Well picked up new console wed and son hasnt been able to connect to his live account since!!! asked to automatically find settings IP etc and it didnt so we manually put IP address in, subnet, gateway etc but when it does the test it comes back TEST FAILED, cant connect to your network using a static IP address, , and also a suggestion "make sure your routers mac filtering allows your console mac address is disabled (how do we do that?) I remember we had trouble last time we tried to set him up on live, so we wrote a few details down (password etc) but have lost them Any ideas guys?
