Kerrr-ching! 5p into my pot
Been out to collect the bike DD has bought elder GD for Christmas (already paid for), and nipped into Asda which is just up the road. Loooooads of shopping (mostly whoopsied bakery items, but also some non-whoopsied crisps, mince pies and vegetable) for just under a tenner.Cheryl0 -
Hi all... just wondering what everyone is saving for or if you are saving to pay off a bit of debt etc.
I just think after saving for that long it would be great to treat yourself but i wouldnt want to thrift it away!!!!
Just curious as to what all of you guys are aiming to do with the hard saved money????
Mines going to be spending money for our trip to Australia next Christmas, got £21ish in there so far, looking to get £1k :eek:Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Hi Junior J… that’s is a great idea.. saving up for a new outfit once you have lost a few pounds (of the weight kind!). Good luck!!!
RedMel… tickets to Disneyland. That is such a nice idea!!! And even better when its all change that has paid for it! J and littlemissmup…. Australia!!! :T
Looks like most people are saving for a treat which is nice… I have decided to try and pay a large amount off my overdraft. Although that idea might change if I get to pay it off before hand!!!!!!!:A
I think when you talk about what you plan to do with the money, it gives you something to look forward 2!!!! :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T

I'll be using mine for Christmas luxuries......
Food items like fizzy pop, biscuits, sweets and specialist cheeses in particular. Probably also for a cake or ingredients to make one (depending what I'm doing work-wise at the end of the year, as to whether I have time to make one or not)
And younger DS (the only 'child' still living at home) can get through vast quantities of mince pies with cream given half a chance
In theory most of it will be coming from my Grocery Challenge budget anyway (that's where most of my cash comes from to get the loose change), and that's part of my 'live on £4k' challenge money !!!
But I figured this was easier than reducing my GC challenge money by a set amount each month, only to have a higher budget in December
I completely forgot that when we open the pot it will be near Christmas!!!!lol.... might buy myslef a nice present!!! and spend the rest paying for Christmas! x

I would like to split it in half and use half as a final push at my debts for the debt free in 2009 challenge.
The other half will be used for Christmas, possibly babys first depending on when it decides to come, and also the babys first birthday.Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T

I have put a bit more in my pots, probably about £8 in there now (not much compared to others but if there was too much then that wouldn't be money paid off my debts!)
I am putting every 1,2,5,10 and £2 in there that I get, I just don't seem to get that manyI am now 20p and £1 heavy in my purse :rotfl:
I have spent too much of late but it has been mainly using debit card (or credit card and then transferring the cash over) so the spending hasn't turned into saving (!)£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)
