Hi all! 3p for the pot today. Well done to all of you who are adding lots of nice coins (and notes!) to your pots - mine is all very heavy weather at the moment but on the plus side, I'm barely spending anything so I guess it evens out.

    Hi Everyone

Have any of you heard about the Royal Mint's Boo Boo. They've accidently minted a whole load of 20p without the date! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/south_east/8123749.stm

[STRIKE]They're offering £50 for their return.[/STRIKE] I wonder how many are locked in our sealed pots/tins. I'm really tempted to open mine up!

    urg x x

EDIT: I MISREAD THE ARTICLE - COIN COLLECTORS SAID THAT THEY COULD BE WORTH £50 - SORRY. I have opened mine and am still counting - will post the amount and add it to my signature.

I expect someone has already posted this but if not here is a thread about the value of 20p without dates:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1783011

I'm putting a note in my sealed pot so I can check when the time comes.

Oops - just read the post from urg, who beat me to it!

    Hi all.

I can't BELIEVE the Royal Mint's date-free 20p [STRIKE]!!!! up[/STRIKE] blunder has taken so long for the media to get hold of!! IF memory serves me correctly it was either sparky or stunty that first said about it, but that was MONTHS AGO!! A first for the beeb to be slow on the uptake surely!

750 sparky?!!! Ah well, who knows, I never thought we'd get to 700, so........!

Lovely to see you Surfbabe and mogchops!

OK LC, it's after midnight so... Have a VERY Happy Birthday and thoroughly enjoy the day and the night (she will ) as well as the following year. :bdaycake:
Have a great day folks, keep out of the sun stunty, or you might melt! Best leave the roadkill where it is, too hot to handle!;)
