    Hello All and Happy Valentine,
I did a few little jobs for people and they insisted I kept the change. After a futile argument I had to keep the money. It's safely installed in my ever growing heavier tin.
I think I may have to take all the change out soon and change it to notes. I wonder if I can get hubby to take the notes out whilst I do so that it is all still a surprise for December. I am a little worried that if he sees how well I am doing he may:

    1 Reduce my housekeeping.
2 Knick the lot!!!!!

    Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm what should I do?

Of course I could ask one of the DD to do it, but they may want 10%!

Of course a third option is to hide that one away and start a new Quality Street tin.
    :j :T :j :T :j :T :j :T :j :T :j

    Problem solved me thinketh!

  • I too think a new tin would be the best plan - keep it to yourself as long as possible!!;)

January was such a good month for me but not been as good in February I seem to never have any money - although found 87p at the bottom of my bag today so in the pot it went.

I cant walk past money on the floor any longer - I found some money in the mud yesterday and dug it out - I did get a few strange looks but hey ho!:D

Good to see everyone is still doing well and keeping us all motivated - happy valentines to everyone
    :xmastree:

:jYou've got to be in it to win it!! Just believe to receive!! :j

  • HI

Can I join in the fun too please?

I have a little piggie on top of my fridge and have put lots of coins in already today, didn't count them in though, do you have to keep a running total or is it ok to just keep putting in and have a surprise on opening day?

    cheers

A very warm welcome to the thread kdalwayskint and welcome to MSE too. Lovely to meet you. No running total needed at all. Most of us just put all our change away after shopping then get a lovely surprise at Christmas. :D Enjoy yourself here and have great fun with the saving. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 2 of page 1, read through posts 1 & 2 as it'll help you with any queries

OK Kas and understood, I agree as names are important.....Talking of which Elsie, there's NO such thing as "plain old Elsie" where you're concerned. "Our Elsie"'s very [strike]nutty[/strike] precious too!.....Afraid I can't answer your question I.m.hart, but please keep filling and let us know as it's always good to have an idea, depends on the coins saved though! i.e.. If you're saving £2 & £1 you'll get a great deal more than mixed coinage.....Thanks a lot sparky, much better now. Good for you in cooking for your DW, my DH did exactly the same for me, bless his little cotton socks:kisses3:.....What a lovely greeting Greenbynature, the same to you also!....Thanks jenchin for pointing it out to tobedebtfree, I thought it was me going bonkers for a mo. Glad you're already feeling at home tobe, we're one big happy family here - mad too!;)

You have a lovely weekend too Skippycat and bad luck about the job, maybe it wasn't meant to be though. Bett you get addicted to the wii fit, you should weigh a little less come Monday!!! :j......Brilliant news moneysavingfamilycomp, £250 is a big win, well done!!!:T .....Go for the last option reb - definitely!!!....Thanks so much LC I'm feeling better now, but appreciate your thoughts. It's amazing how new friends are still joining us, maybe we're better than we thought! YOU competitive..? Me too!!!:p .....doelani - don't let him do it whatever you do!!!!!
