Hi all and a warm welcome to Greenie23468, Bluestaff, ratty and missessex01 (certainly you can join, glad to see you have a real reason to save too.) All your numbers and targets are on page 1, please check to make sure I've got things correct. You've joined a wonderful thread with such super members, enjoy the MSE chat.
Been thinking and I feel that I should have a go at some sort of target, that way if I beat it I will be surprised and if I don't it doesn't matter.

You're right Purpletea65, I'd been wondering whether to put one on or not as I thought I might be disappointed, but put as you have, I've now set myself a target and hope for the best, but if not....no problem.

LMMS - you keep No 360 and I've given 362 to Greenie23468. What folks might commonly refer to as a c!!!-up folks, and there was me thinking I was getting to grips with things, that'd be the day! Thanks again LMMS. :)

Hi Nyk, glad you got here safely, it's been a bit hectic but is settling down now, but to keep track (if you're not too busy) get the alerts part ticked to receive for this thread on your "user CP" Just a thought, though I know you're busy. Pleased to see Phil's still being fed well! I always keep my jar etc at the top of a cupboard out of sight nickynoo, not because I don't trust myself, it's so that I don't stupidly keep on looking across at it and virtually 'counting' and getting all exited at an amount ...that mightn't be there come the day. :(

<<"Free wine always tastes better!">> I'm sure that's what your pig was thinking mai_tai when he hugged your money in his tummy and grinned! :DDizzeepixie by all means put your M&S voucher in your pot, why not! Hi oopalah, great to see you. I bet your money makes a bit of a thud at present but won't be long til you hear that lovely "chink"! I love that sound! Well done with your new £2 home poorandindenial, good luck with it's hat! One way to view staying in out of the cold LC is that you're not giving your money away. Can it get much colder, I hope not. Numpty, I love your piggy bank smilie, a beauty. I see you couldn't bear it though LC!!! :rotfl: It doesn't half look comical to see all those doing that together, a mammoth cash-in. That was lucky with the 20%discount Di! Congratulations with your £154 saved Lemon Tree, a wonderful way to have spent it! 10p's will still make a fair bit by next December ....try 10 a day! ;)

<<"28p in the pot today, I'm really enjoying this!">> Words like those broke mum of 3 are what really makes you know this challenge is SO worth doing, well done! See what you mean about postage of the £1 cans lingjingo, wonder if you have 3 it'll cost £3 for all or - £9??

Hi Molly! Well, kids are always going to be kids and take advantage of such times , but I hope you get your voice back SOON ....to spite em!!! :D You've made me feel all Christmassy now, though we're getting ours done at the weekend. You're not alone with being like a big kid Molly, I'm awful like that ...and why not!:j

Please keep motivated...last year when I started the challenge I was so excited, then after a few weeks into January I thought - this will take AGES!! I can be quite impatient so this was tricky for me. Anyhow....once summer came I was amazed at the weight of the pot and how fast time had passed. The second half of the year has flown by and I can't believe it was a year ago we all started. Sooooo....keep putting those coins in and it's brilliant to open your pot up and see it all there.

Good Luck everyone and best wishes for the challenge

Thanks so much for taking the time to put the above on Rabbit, it's good of you to think ahead for folk... just in case after a while the novelty should wear off a little. There you have it folks! All the best with saving and keeping at it all year through.

Nearly forgot, didn't have anything until a last minute walk to the shop and came back with £4!!! Well, I HAD to take a £5er with me, you all know that.

I've come up with a cunning plan ;)
Each week I use some of my cleaning money to put petrol in. With current prices of fuel I get about £2-50 change so thats going straight in my pot each week!
I LOVE the idea of this.....first time I've saved in years!
