Sweet Jebus, complain! I thought my postie was bad, what with him just dumping parcels on the step and walking away regardless of whether we're in or not, but that crap needs to stop. Call up Royal Mail and complain.
lol i kind of looked at it as he was trying to do me a favour so i didnt have to go to the sorting office! i didnt mind the wheelie bin (its for the bottles etc) but the food bin just turned my stomach!0 -

Im a postie and if i cant get an answer at the door i would rather put a parcel in the recycling bin and put a note thru the door saying where it is than have to take it back to the office for that person to collect. Its quite a distance away for some people to get too.
If you are having a problem with your postie put a note on the door saying DO NOT DOORSTEP PARCELS or grab him/her and ask for it not to happen again0 -
Packet posted 1st class 21 November arrived with me today.
Expect lots more queries at this time of year.0 -
also something i should point out
packets are not covered by RM's universal service obligation
so whilst mail must go every day, packets do not0 -

Surely it should be the other way round and I should expect items taken back to a place of safety unless I request otherwise? I don't expect my items to be left in full view of passers by or in bins on the drive..so it would not occur to me to leave a note to say that. It is wrong for any postie to assume that is OK..what if I was away for a week, I don't exactly advertise the fact when I go away and leaving parcels on the drive or under my car (which I've had recently) is totally unacceptable.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. however soolin i field complaints every because posties dont 'doorstep' items

Nope - it's posties like that means items go "missing".0

so how would you answer the complaints then and (feel free to search this forum) the many people who want posties to doorstep?
RM basically has everyone in the UK as a customer and will never ever please everyone.
by the way,why are you highlighting the word "missing"? trying to insinuate something?0 -
Yes your right however ive had people complain to me for NOT leaving it on their doorstep even though i pointed out it could be seen from the road as they didnt want to"go all the way up to your office for a parcel"Surely it should be the other way round and I should expect items taken back to a place of safety unless I request otherwise? the bottle wheelie bin thing didnt bother me too much, even though i struggled to reach it, but i think the food bin was a bit too much! thank god i bag it lol! but then i think what a hassle it wouldve been to go all the way down to the office on the bus, two young kids in tow blah blah blah,,, it wasnt the normal postie which is why i havent said anything, felt kind of bad for the old guy walking around at 4pm like he could drop at any minute, i think he was trying to do me a favour imo0
