I would explain that I had already eaten, thank the father for the invitation and say I would love to take up his offer some other time. Hopefully this will save his embarrassment and his pocket>

The dilemma is between your discomfiture and his wish to feel he is doing what is seemly in his cuture. Although you are the guest, he must have his way and you can do something by back door - make a generous donation to a charity. Not forgetting Gift Aid!
