Mondy 1/12/08 Wht small dfw things have you done today???

:D When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Today I will:
  • check online banking done
  • move some spare cash to savings done
  • make a loaf in breadmaker done
  • storecupboard lunch and tea done

    Good morning all

December already! Up early today as off to do Mrs Mop job for brother and sister in law. Feeling a bit down as OH's reduced hours are starting to really affect us now. Working out figures last night was a nightmare and for the first time in five years I've had to ask my Sister-in-law to delay banking the rent cheque (only until Wednesday but still feel awful about it). Still, we have a warm roof over our head etc etc so I will try and count my blessings!

So, today is DEFINATELY a day for small dfw things.....

    * Checked on-line banking (not pretty after having to buy OH's car tax last night:eek: )

    * Do Mrs Mop job - my fuel paid for he week!

    * Work out revised budget for December

    * Work out how much our post christmas break is going to cost (actual break paid for but need to entertain kids while away. Lots of walks on windswept beaches I think!)

    * Dig out some stuff to ebay

    * Charge mobile at work

    * Heating off for most of day as we are in and out

    * Storecupboard dinner

    * Do any surveys that come through

    * Try and find time for some competitions

    * Washing at 30'c and dry on airer

    * Ironing later - that should keep me warm! :rotfl:

Thats all I can think of for now. Have good days all!!

    Miss P
    xx

  • Right I'm determined to make some money today!! Therefore tonight - I will *post 2 items on ebay for 7 days so next monday hopefully I'll be able to cash in that money.
*Find books to put on Amazon - haven't done this before... I have loads of books that I could put up there but I don't know whether they would actually sell?? Unknown titles etc... worth putting up still I guess
*Brought breakfast and lunch from home
    *Paid £1.56 to CC
*Low spend Day - going to Primark at lunch to get some leg warmers or big socks for Berlin and that's it.

I'll be happy if I get those items on ebay - been meaning to do it for ages it's just such a pain!! I might put another dress up there as well which I think will sell for a bit..... :)

    Good Luck Cornball :D
    Good morning All :hello:

Depends what age your little 'uns are Miss Piggy (piglets?) but walks are def. good especially in windswept bleak landscapes, hot chocolate on your return is then a real treat :D We talked about landscape affecting our moods the other night, cos friends are spending Christmas in remote part of Norfolk & I reckon a cold dry Christmas in Norfolk is perfect walking country. (I'm wittering here:o )

    Anyway today:
    • washing on at 30, and last nights load now on line to dry.
    • HM soup for lunch
    • Risotto from leftovers tonight
    • will re-list books on Amazon
    • go to gym and use their hot water/soap etc
    • Skype OH :smileyhea (I ought to put that on here more often, it's saving us a fortune)
    • make a list of things to do in the next 3 weeks before I fly out & join him for Christmas.
    • make bread in the BM
    • clean kitchen floor after a weekend of traipsing mud in and out as we've (almost) assembled the shed.......Hope to finish next weekend, if it is dry.
Have a good Monday everyone :D
