I think what the OP is trying to say is that they are keeping their prices the same, but paying less VAT to the government. OP's mathematical ability is probably too limited for them to realise that it doesn't actually equal a 2.5% price increase.
Of course its a price increase, sky are increasing their prices so they dont have to pass on the 2.12% decrease to its customers.0 -

so you are saying the prices are not going to change
if so then if sky dont charge vat then this thread is pointless?0 -

If sky were to play fair prices would be coming down(slightly)for thousands of customers, but sky does not want to play fair and keep prices the same,so they need to increase prices enough to cover the vat rate drop and keep prices the same,so sky are the only winners here not loyal customers,as sky have raised prices to cover the diffrent rate of vat!!!0 -
To be honest I'm not surprised. I suspected a number of companies would end up doing this. Use the decrease in VAT as an excuse to increase their profits. I'm afraid sky were one of the obvious ones that I expected to do this.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Unless you are buying a high value item or car, I dont think a VAT will make much difference! £2.50 off a weekly shop at £100. £25 off a £1000 sofa! Sorry but it certainly wont make me buy any more than i do currently!0

We changed from sky as they kept putting there prices up with out letting you know, we were on direct debt and they never tell you just take the extraThose who don't believe in magic will never find it♥0

Companies, can then keep staff on as they can make a profit and continue business without having to cut back staff. I would say this is the real reason for the governments VAT scheme0 -
