Evening all,
Thank you to Natty and Kassey for your Christmas cards. Lil_me I posted mine up to you today using first class stamps, and I've included a couple of large first class stamps inside your card for you. Thanks again for taking on the role of flylady postmistress.
I've had quite a busy day in town as I decided to make the most of the free park and ride that runs at this time of year. I did brave Woolies, but tbh there weren't many bargains to be had (most things only had 10-20% off if anything at all) and the queues were enormous so I didn't stay in there long. I was looking for some nice placemats for the dining room that will go with our new decor, but they didn't have any. I bought MIL a pair of earrings from Pia for £15, bought lunch in Starbucks for £5.25, went to Lidl and bought some more edible Christmas presents - chocolate Santa lollies for the children in my class (4 packs of 8 for 87p per pack = £3.48) and a pack of their version of guylian belgian seashell pralines for £1.29 for MIL. Looked for curtains for the living room without much success. Then I went to our local farmshop to buy a catflap (£32.95) and now I've just got home and bought OH The Best of Sash CD at HMV online for £5.99 less a £1 evoucher. Quite a successful day shopping.I'm going to look online now for a nice new wallet for OH as his one has had it now, then he and MIL are pretty much sorted for Christmas. Just have no idea what to get for my sister as we see each other so rarely that I don't have a clue what she's into at the moment. I don't want to be boring and just give vouchers. I thought about buying her a set of digital cooking scales and a cookery book as she came all the way home to my parents the other week (30 minute drive) so that she could bake as she didn't have any scales. - I'm obviously psychic cos just called to ask her what she wants and she said a cookbook! :T
Off to find those things now too.

Those pralines taste exactly like much more expensive Guylian ones ... great bargain... have you ever tried them?
I think I scared a lady in Morris0ns earlier I leaned over, pointed to her bag on her trolley and told her not to leave it there...then afterwards realised from the panicked look she thought I was gonna grab it...:rotfl:
it's just awful having your bag snatched and this is the worst time of year...
Last time my sis came she handed me a bag and said 'I have bought myself this...thought you would like to give it me for xmas...' job done;) I did pay her for it...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Well I had a sudden burst of energy.
Recycling out into bin,
Workbag unpacked and put away.
Towels in washer.
Wrote xmas card list and checked what I have and what I need.
Put clean washing away.
DD and I put mums tree up for her and her decorations. Mum loves xmas and was happy to supervise. Then DD got hers out when we got there. She has quite a bit of mums stuff and that always has pride of place.
Valli Well done on paying off the credit card and giving it the chop.0 -
boddy thanks, DS2s better, just DP moaning now, but he doesn't count
Valli woop woop well done!!!
Denise, lists not getting done means just one thing, list needs to be smaller!
Bum, just looked at the list of presents bought for the boys, had just put it all as one list, now have realised how much DS1s got and how little DS2 has in comparison, darn it! Dare I admit I don't really know what he wants...One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
Yes I have tried the Lidl version of Guylian before - we tend to buy them as a regular Christmas pressie for MIL.
Just had a setback - the book my sister wants is being reprinted by the publisher and can't be found anywhere online. Just tried to call my sister to tell her, and my Mum shouted at me cos I'd interrupted the XFactor!Back to the drawing board.

I was getting on ok until a friend phoned to say she was coming into town and could we meet:eek:   fortunately she is not offended if I say she cant come here!!!! Anyway she arrived and dropped off dozens and dozens of boxes of all shapes and sizes as she is not going to do any more ebay selling. then we went to TKmaxx to return something for her, Brantano where she bought 2 pairs of boots!!! ( i was tempted to buy a pair but resisted as they were suede and I really want leather.) then we had a quick coffee in Morrisons and then went to lidl's. I just got some cheap veggies and flour and a few tins which would save me having to carry heavy things home - she went mad and spent over £100 - well I think thats a lot and she lives alone like me.
It was nice to catch up with her even if it messed up my flying schedule!!!!:rotfl:
I did do the bathroom while I was waiting for her to arrive - she is always half an hour later than she says she will be!!!
will go and cross these bits off my list and see what I could do tonight.
back in a bit
