Michelle - hugs, sorry to hear about your friend xx
Summermoon - congratulations on the job....that's fab!

I've been working most of today and then we rearranged the furniture in the living room to make it easier when I come out of hospital.

Spotty potty puppy has just had us all in stitches. I know I got her a while ago but she's actually my 40th birthday present. DH and the children were just practising putting a bow on her collar ready for Tuesday. She obviously liked it as she's run all round the house and come in and shown me!!!! I don't think I was supposed to see it yet!!! She was very proud of herself.

Minimal flying because it was all moving furniture today. Flying tomorrow and then i'm going to enjoy friends coming over tomorrow night. Hugs to you all xx

    Good evening all xx

Well i have been awol for a week and what a sh*t week it has been.

I got an infection from the iud removal and have been in a bad way and have been on complete bed rest . But just as i was feeling sorry for myself my aunt who has cancer, oh god, this is breaking my heart, Well it turns out the cancer is far more aggressive than was first thought. Well put it this way, her bowel was cancer free 3 weeks ago she now has a huge tumour in it. Also 3 weeks ago we were told her chances of getting through this cancer was very high, she has now been given 2 days. So we are all in shock. Both my cousins, and uncle are absolutely devastated and i just don't know what to say for the first time in my life i am speechless, I have told them if they need anything i will be there no matter what but feel very useless.

And the realisation has just hit me as i type this, when i went to see her today it is probably the last time i will see her. She is being kept comfortable in and out of sleep but she was talking, asking how my kids were etc.. so she is fully aware of whats coming, thats frightened the crap out of me, and i am on the outside looking in.
You can touch the dust but please don't write in it !

Would you like to speak to the man in charge, or the woman who knows whats happening?
  • soappie sorry for the cat but did psml -hope you have marked it on the calendar!!!!

chunky - sorry dont have words for you but you and your family are in my thoughts, massive hugs for the next couple of days.
  • chunky first of all hug for you after getting that infection - hope it has all cleared up and you will soon feel the benefit of having the IUD removed.
HUge ((((hugs))))) for you all regarding your aunt's diagnosis - what a shock - it is such a terrible disease that can erupt so quickly and cause such heartbreak. I am sure the hospital are doing every thing they can to make her comfortable and pain free. Will be thinking of you.

  • Evening

My hangover has only just shifted. Didn't realise i had drank so much last night.

I have been not much use all day. I did take delivery of two parcels, plus one for a neighbour, wrote most of my xmas cards (just need DH to tell me who else needs them) and did some reading and playing with the boys. It was fun.

Can i ask opinions please. I'm reading a book about teaching young children to read. Does anyone have any thoughts on 2 year olds reading? I think it can only be a good thing as DS1 loves books and is starting to memorise some stories like the hungry caterpillar, but i don't want to 'be a teacher' and spoil it for him. Nicki how early did your DD read? I know she reads well for her age now.

summermoon well done on the job

penpen hope tonight goes well for you lovey

I need to do some email sorting too and work out what other parcels need delivering. I have some pretty cool stuff. I bought a scanner that convers old negatives and slides into digital piccies that you can clean up/edit. We have a lot of big wedding anniversaries coming up, so i am thinking that scanned in photos made into coffee table photobooks might be nice pressies.

I also got a cool toy for DS2. It's a photo album that holds 8 pictures, and you can record a message for each photo. It is so much better than it looked, and it looked good. I had a quick play but i can't wait to play some more with it and see him play with it.

Right, off to read a bit more i think, but not long before bed after our early start this morning. x
