  • Hi

Hope everyone is well and welcome newbies/returners. So far today I've washed my hair, done some shopping and errands, spent time with friends and done volunteer work. My aims for the rest of the evening are to empty bins, do some more errands and do laundry
  • Evening everyone.

Thought i would poke my head in and see you all. I'm having a bit of a carp evening. My friend died (cancer) last night, and it has knocked me for 6 a bit. Although i knew it wouldn't be long, i didn't think it would be now and it has upset me. The guy was 61, and only retired last year. It has really got to me. Mostly as i am feeling guilty as i have not spoken to him in the last couple of months as i knew it would upset me and i was struggling to start with. I am hoping i will be able to arrange someone to watch the kiddies so i can go to the funeral.

I was having a carp week anyway as i was struggling with the boys, and the cat seems to have deteriorated again.

I've just broken into another bottle of baileys to chill out a bit.

serena hope your problem is easier than it sounds to resolve.

Off to bed soon for me i think. Hopefully i can manage some decent sleep. lots of hugs with my lovely boys tomorrow i think.

    xx

My grandad was being treated for a leg ulcer. Nurse came regularly to change the dressing. It got to the stage he could hardly walk. My cousin happened to be around one day when the nurse came round and stayed in the room. He went absolutely mad when he saw the state of it. It had turned gangrenous and stank - how on earth a qualified nurse didn't notice I have no idea. My cousin insisted he was taken to hospital - the GP thought he was "making a fuss" and even said that in a note to go with grandad to the hospital. The specialist was horrified when he saw the leg and said he should have been in weeks before. His leg was amputated, but he didn't even survive a fortnight after. He was nearly 93 at the time, but doesn't justify neglect.
Cynically I think you have the reason they didn't bother right THERE

After DD was born I had a !!!!!! time in the hospital...I had a drain with a bottle and 'they could not understand' when nothing was draining and I could barely walk...then realised the bottle wasn't open (a 500ml vacuum) the nurse knocked it open I screamed and the doctor said he would come back later - never saw him again...the section was fine the aftercare carp- if she had been my first she would have been my last - yet the after care after DS (also section) was fab. Same ward - 2 years later different nurses...For years I couldn't talk about it without sobbing. I did complain to my midwife but don't know if anything was done - emotionally I was incapable of dealing with it...

I also went in for a varicose vein op and I had to shave 'you know where' by the bed - I asked what to do with the shavings and they said DROP THEM ON THE FLOOR! I refused - how disgusting AND you can see under those curtains - eventually they brought me a kidney bowl to use...

ETA I could add to this but I won't...but you have to remember they are human and they make mistakes...don't ever meekly accept all they say...

    Evening all,

I've not done any flying for the last two days and haven't caught up so i hope all is well. OH and i haven't been getting on very well so we've spent a lot of time arguing:rolleyes: . Things seem to have calmed down now though so fingers crossed it'll all be ok.

As well as that some stupid idiot in a digger has dug up our water mains pipe:mad:   . We've had no water since 1pm today. The bloke who did it denyed all knowledge until the massive puddle on the floor and the broken pipe was pointed out. The site owner came down but they had all vanished by the time the water guy came out.   They're supposed to be coming out in the morning to fix it but i won't hold my breath. This is the second time this has happened.

So i don't know how much i'll get done tomorrow either i'm limited to what i can do without water.

    Hi All,
I've not done any flying today. I over did it a bit yesterday, so I'm just going to set myself an easy list for tomorrow...

    DW
    WM
    TD
    Compost
    Recycling
    S&S kitchen
    S&S bathroom
    General tidy
    Sweep through downstairs
    Vacuum stairs and landing
    Work
    Coal

Gosh that sounds like loads...not like I'm taking it easy at all. I think I'll try to delegate most of it...

Hope you all have a good night...
