Hiya everyone, love threads like these, interesting to see what ppl do!

Well, I was a police officer for 2 yr, after a few jobs in administration, decided i wanted to do something different! Was a brilliant job for the first 6-12 months, but then started to hate it towards the end, wasnt for me and decided i just wanted a 9-5 job again, knowing what time im gunna be home everyday....well, in an admin job now, and have enjoyed it but its not enough for me, looking to get into care work, considering doing voluntary work first.

On 16.5K, plus bonuses, and have realised that money isnt everything, just want enough to live on and have a happy life.

    :D

In my previous life, I was a Staff Nurse then Midwife. Now in my post babies life, I combine being Mum with running my own Arts, Crafts & Face Painting company.
It's very quiet at the moment, but will hopefully pick up round about Easter.
I'm also hoping to start up as a freelance illustrator as soon as I can get a minute!!

  • I've got my own business and I sell lingerie online, a range of everything really. I've been doing this for 6 years now and fell into it by mistake after having my daughter and got fed up of paying a small fortune for larger size bras - I started selling for bigger busts but now I sell all sizes. I used to run my business from eBay but got sick of paying the fees and figured if I was not going to be selling much I might as well keep the money in my own pocket instead of paying fees each month for nothing. The amount I made but paid in fees would make your hair curl!! So now I only have my website.

I love that I can be a full time mum and a 'business woman', I have 2 kids a DD who is 6 and a DS who is 5 with Special Needs, it means I can give them both my time and then run my business in the rest of my time.

It is very quiet at the moment as people do not really seem to have the money to spend on themselves (not even one sale to a man for Valentines day!!) but I have some orders coming through, nothing to get excited by to be honest as I am currently selling a lot of my stock at cost to recoup what I have outlayed and get some of this back, but work is work. I have high hopes though. Haven't we all :)
