I was given green loo roll instead of white from Tesco a few years back - the delivery driver was stunned when I said no thanks!!

Thankfully Sainsbury's deliver here and now and they understand that loo roll MUST only ever be white!!

its all brown in the end.
  • At least you got substitutes. My Tesco order arrived on Friday night without Pork Steaks and Beef Joint, apparently "out of stock" just imagine a Tesco on a Friday completly out of Pork steaks and beef joints, picker obviously too lazy to bother substituting.

I've only ordered online once - from Ocado - full of subs - probably won't do it again! Their best sub - I ordered a small pack of frozen peas but they delivered a large frozen chicken instead!
  • I ordered a frying pan and got substituted with a deep pan pizza!!!!!!

Exactly what I thought when in my last order, I ordered 15 in total bottles of fizzy stuff and some wine....nothing showed up, along with no vegetables and bruised fruit. My order was arriving saturday early afternoon...lazy picker were not the words that came to my mind...
  • I use Asda home delivery, if they substitute then it's always for a higher value item but you still pay the lower price of what you ordered.
I haven't had any really weird substitutions but just before Christmas last year I had ordered a small frozen turkey crown. They subbed it with a massive fresh free range one at the same price so I was very happy.

i've received substitutions that cost less than the item i originally ordered. When they are especially odd, i tend to assume that the store is rewarding pickers for coming up with cheap substitutions. Why would i want to pay more for something i never wanted in the first place? E.g. Awhile ago i ordered 2 posh flapjacks for around £1.30 total; received 2 brittle sesame bars that would have cost me 80p total. i sent those back...

i also don't understand why ASDA choose to ignore when i mark "no substitutions." They'll substitute for a few things & mark the rest unavailable.

However, the most irritating of all is how they treat multisaves. If i order 3 bags of crisps for £3, i don't want 2 bags of crisps at full price (nearly £3), all because the store is out of one flavor. If they don't deliver all 3 bags, they charge full price for whatever is delivered - very deceptive. At the very least, they should substitute an extra bag of one of the other flavors i ordered - it's not rocket science! Charging full price for the partial delivery because the store can't fulfill the entire multisave order is terribly close to a scam in my opinion.

It's especially irritating when i don't catch it before the deliveryperson leaves - all the multisaves come off at the end (sometimes referenced by quite cryptic codes) & individual products aren't marked as being part of an offer... Evidently ASDA think i should remember precisely what was on offer days after i place the order...:rolleyes2

ha! it was a long night for me, too... (working feverishly on a project)

i can say with pleasure that today's ASDA delivery was perfect, only two items unavailable & no silly substitutions or scams related to multisave offers. :T

I don't know if you have read my other thread about the delivery charges starting from £3.50 but also soon (but not sure when exactly) you will be able to 'choose' your own substitute with ASDA.

Like I said... not sure when it's starting but the website is all set to change soon.
