  • This thread is too funny, have emailed it to a few people I know who get shopping delivered. :o

On my first Asda shop recently I ticked no substitutes but they sent me 3 anyway, the most useless to me as I don't like them, was blueberries instead of blackberries, reading through this thread looks like I should have been grateful I got another type of fruit! ;)

Not a substitute but I order potatoes to have as jacket spuds, once Tesco sent me one that so was so big it weighed around 1kg on it's own!!
    Quidco: Paid £2,244.90 :D
    TCB: Paid £342.82

if you don't want something random tell us what you want we aren't mind readers and have to make an educated guess!
It would be ok if the pickers made 'educated guesses' but judging by the stories on here, a lot of the guesses are not very educated at all, like the twix/tampax (lol) and the chap who didn't know the difference between butter, marg and lard!!
Very funny thread though, I have been laughing out loud for the past 10 mins! I have never ordered an online shop but I want to now just to see what the substitutions are!

Another good one recently was we ordered some toilet rolls.
    The sub was finger rolls.

    This is the honest truth!!

Last month was my 1 year old's birthday so with Tesco we ordered a candle in the design/shape of a one (1).

What did they substitute it with?!?!? A candle in the shape of a two (2)!!!!

The driver was still asking if I still wanted it?!?!?!?

In the same order he brought smaller sized nappies instead of his normal size!!!

    You gotta love 'em!!!

I've had bubble bath instead of hair gel... not sure what they expected me to do with it :o
  • We ordered 50 of each mini sausage rolls, mini cheese & onion rolls, mini cocktail sausages, mini scotch eggs & mini cornish pasties for a party.
We recieved 250 mini sausage rolls as apparently they had none of the others.
What a good party food selection.:D
  • I can see this has happened to others, but i ordered size 5 nappies, instead of giving me another make i had size 2. GGGRR, was on my last 2 nappies that day so had to go instore to get the right size as soon as tesco man left. How i wish we had another shop in 10 miles radius!
  • This is an excellent thread! I think I have come off very lightly with the many substitutions I have received; the worst I have had was that I ordered DAIRY FREE strawberry milk shake and got COWS MILK chocolate milk shake. No good for anyone with a milk allergy!

Going slowly mad with tescos online:
I made my first order about a year ago which promised "1000 clubcard points on your first order" only the points never arrived on my card.
I contacted Tescos after my next clubcard letter came without the extra 1000 points and was apologised to and said they were "experiencing errors on their system" They gave me £10 to use online...

I never ever ever want to order from Tescos online again! not only did they only send me 25% of my massive order- missing out the heavy stuff like 2 liter bottles, milk and washing powder, but the fruit they did send was bruised and not fit to be eaten.

I complained again and....another £10 for the online grocerys....
    AGHHHHHHHR!
