It is very worrying but I'm more reassured now

    Hopw this helps.

    My IP address:78.32.109.34

If you go here, it tells you my IP address traces back to Warrington:
    http://www.geobytes.com/IpLocator.htm?GetLocation

Only problem is, if you went to Warrington, you're at the completely wrong end of the M62 to where I live. Warrington is the location of my ISPs servers.

Now the Police could find you but they'd have to take the IP address and time it was used to the ISP with a court order to force the ISP to give the information as to which customer was assigned that IP address at that time.

How do i find my IP address so I can see where it would take him?

    C xx
  • Nice gadget... just put in my public IP, it says I'm in Michigan, USA... funny that as I'm in North London.

Proof positive that it routes through the ISP servers

The police can't do anything until he's doing/done something. Which could be too late for me...

He has. He's committed an offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990 if he sent you the keylogger. He's committed an offence under the Telecommunications Act by sending threatening emails. He's also committed an offence under Section 5 of the Public Order Act by using behaviour likely to cause alarm and distress.

I don't know about the keylogger (but that was over 2 years ago), he hasn't sent threatening emails - he's trying to get friendly with me again (as if!) now he's back in the country, and the behaviour was again at least 18months ago, and as I didn't write down specifics at the time, I wouldn't have much to go on. Its just the thought of him knowing where I am that scares me especially as I'm on my own tonight I guess. If he does do anything 'now' then yes I will report him.

This is the guy that told me I'm worthless, a waste of space who would never be employed (I'd just been made redundant for the third time...) and that I would never amount to anything in my life when I wouldn't go out with him. Shame I'm the only one who knows his first kiss was gay.......
