I'm only covered for the OLD BOILER! :rotfl:
Don't worry, she won't "get" that one!0 -
Boy I look forward to the day I live out of London and don't have to take out a small mortgage to pay a plumber....:mad:In memory of Chris Hyde #8670

I know my youngest lad has spent almost 7 years at Uni got a Phd in genetics and can only get a job in research at £22,000 per year. Our local plumber is a rude uneducated yob, who charges £30 for getting out his brand new van and £40 per hour there after. Rant over. :mad:
makes my blood boil to ami:mad: lets all be plumbers -in germany all tradesmen have to have undergone 3 year apprenticeship and also have to be all registered -so no Tom, !!!!!! or Abdul can be a plumber or builder etc.-much safer and not as expensive0 -
Congrats on your son's academic achievement, good man ! He needs to bear in mind that employers usually value intelligence over specific vocation, so he could try other areas...though job market not exactly bustling.
<Rant>
Last plumber charged similar, had the job done in 50 mins but spent 2o mins "testing" the loo flush to push it into the 3rd half hour payment

since moving house I have not bothered with the BGAS 4 star homecare job =waste of money.
Do please still get your boiler (;) ) serviced once a year, as Carbon Monoxide can kill you in less than a minute and debilitate you quicker.
And remember to "pull your finger out" regularly on the CO (and smoke) meter0 -
Yeah I'm proud of both my lads. The eldest has a Masters degree in aerospace engineering, working at Rolls Royce as a manufacturing engineer, about £35,000 per year, abit more like it. But Higher education, especially these days, wihout grants, student loans and such high tution fees worries me. The politicians say graduates wil obtain better jobs to compensate for the debt they incurr, some will, but I believe the vast majority will not. Students do not have to repay their loans until they earn something like £15,000 per year. I think in this present climate millions of pounds will never be recovered.In memory of Chris Hyde #8670
