I wish, never fired a round in combat.

Had a few accidentally discharges in my "poorest hours", put it down to youth, over exuberance, and inexperience of handling a loaded weapon under pressue. Plus most of the time I was up against old German "pros". ;):D

Sent this to the Channel 4 Racing team this morning. Quite amusing if you know the personalities. John Francome (Francs) ex champion jockey "bit of a lad with a risque sense of humour" Alice Plunket attractive lady presenter. Alastair Down (Fal Al) a portly racing correspondent. John McCririck (Big Mac), huge man, most noted for his underpants appearance in Celebrity Big Brother.

The new TurfTrax going stick (a calibrated probe that is pushed into the ground to record the solidity of the turf)

"Enjoyed the Race Line this morning epecially the banter about the above instrument. I thought of this joke.

John McCririck, John Francome, Alice Plunkett and Alastair Down tried to sneak up on a bad tempered offical who was trying to establish the condition of the Sandown course with a TurfTrax going stick. He did not recognise them, told them to clear off, and prodded them all with the stick to usher them away.

Francs registered: Firm, Hard in places
Alice: Good, soft in the right places
Fat Al: Soft to very soft
Big Mac: Heavy, really, really, heavy!"

I'm not a huge gee gees fan, my dad was big time and unfortunately with the losses came trouble paying bills and with the wins he just splashed out on pressies ("put aside for the bills my Mum would cry!").

But gonna check it out for Alice !! That John Francome's SOH has come on since I saw one or two interviews in his riding days!
