Oh 5h!t, I'm about to sink a large sum into this ICICI (within the compensation limits). Should I think twice?
I almost put money into the I say I say I say bank but people tell me its a joke :rotfl: .0 -
In light of the last two months (or was it years?) please be aware I have initiated a change of name by deed poll.
Battle-scarred veteran Justaslowie thanking you for your good company and signing off.
Campaign highlights:
"It's like getting divorced but having to keep the wife" - the personal cost of default.
"Burn their igloos" - carefully considered retaliation.
It was almost worth the ride.0 -
Thanks to amistupid. Just thought I’d say hello on the new thread. Yesterday morning I saw my Icesave money arrive on-line, and 10 minutes later my hard drive blew up!
This is totally disastrous as I am newly self-employed, and am supposed to be getting a proposal in by Monday. I have loads of software that I can’t upgrade to the dreaded Vista, so I need to source an XP machine. My son has kindly lent me an old laptop, that had been infected and was waiting re-installation. Hence I am here in the middle of the night loading aeons of software. Just completing the XP service pack 2 - gasp.
Having problems posting, and havn’t got Word on yet, so no doubt harrowing will love the spelling!
I noticed there seems to have been a ‘spat’. Haven’t quite fathomed it yet, but will check more thoroughly another time.
I’m sure this isn’t the right thread n all that, but if anyones got any suggestions on sourcing XP laptops or PCs other than from Dell or PC Worlsd business they’d be gratefully received.
Will be a bit snowed under at the mo, but will check back in at some point.0 -

The good news is that your spelling is definitely perfect ! :rotfl: :T0 -
You won't believe this but it's Dominic Minghella who it turns out is Loretta's brother, as we know from earlier that Loretta is the sister of Anthony Minghella the film director and it says Anthony and Dominic are brothers.

God, don't you just hate over-achieving families!?
Yeah, fascinating info though.:T I do LOVE that show, best comedy drama since Cold Feet IMO ( Doc Martin, not the FSCS)0 -

If I ever do get the form and manage to send it back, it'll be mixed in with all the future maturing fixed account applications.
Mine however is for a POA easy access account and ISA and the money is needed NOW:mad:
That's a tough position to be in. I can see you have made an effort to download the form but the bar codes appear to be individualised.
I can only suggest that you send a letter along with the return of the paper application (when received) along the lines of:
“I have not been allowed to participate in the electronic progress however I have urgent need for the money from my accounts {insert detail}.
I have not been sent a paper application either. I have made significant efforts to get hold of a form {include detail here} including attempting to download a form from on-line, although it appears the bar codes are individualised and so this is not possible.
I feel that I have been disadvantaged by the process, and while I understand that many of those who have returned their forms will also be in urgent need for their money it does not seem fair that I will be placed in the queue behind those who have already returned paper applications through no fault of my own.
I would ask that my application is therefore given equal priority as those who have already returned forms.
Please could you phone me to let me know if this is possible.”
Don't know if it will work but must be worth a try
Good luck. You deserve it.
Edit: It also says in the FSCS general (not icesave) FAQ
"8. What happens if I am facing financial difficulties and need my claim processed quickly?
If you are facing immediate financial hardship, we will try to deal with your claim as a priority. Please contact us."
So if that applies to anybody in your position you can quote that also.MSE. Abandon hope all ye who enter here0 -
