Im going to join this for £120 im not sure how realistic im being but it would make my life so much easier if i could survive on this amount every month.
There is only me and DS7 to feed but this needs to include toiletries/cleaning products too. I am quite well stocked at the minute and armed with a new slow cooker and baking tins from the end of november so hopefully that should give me a good start.
Lets hope all the tips ive picked up from lots of reading these forums will get me through it :D

    Oops:o Silly question coming up:

When people put things like "DS2" does the number stand for age? I assumed "DS2" meant the second son so I put my hulking 16yo down as "DS4"

I think it means second son rather than 2 year old son.

Anyway, I'm going to give this a bash as i need to tighten up the purse strings! Can i please be put down for £150 running from the 1st til 31st for 1 adult, a 3 year old, 10 month old and 2 guinea pigs! This covers baby stuff, pet supplies, cleaning products etc.
  • i do it as dd2 for second daughter but i think som people do it as age, as ive seen ds9 etc unless they have been busy with the children....:)

most people use DS1 and DS2 to mean first and second son (which is the way they're used on another forum I'm on), but I do see a couple who refer to children as (eg) DS14 and DD12 which I assume are their ages. As such I tend to use elder DS and younger DS on here when I remember !!

Spent €52.01 in Lidl today, should get out until at least next Monday, have lots of f&v in so will only need milk if anything...did have a friend with me while I was shopping so not sure if I left anything I needed or not.

    Good luck to all

...unless they've been VERY busy with the children:rotfl:

Well all I have left at home (apart from the dog) are DS4 (17), DS5 (16) and DH - all well over 6ft. I really shouldn't have put so much manure in their wellies.
They're famous for being black holes - people from miles around invite them over when they have too much food left - yet, as someone said recently "I've seen more meat on a bamboo cane". Am I doing something wrong?
I tend to keep a lot of convenience foods for them (regularly hear the sounds of cupboards, freezers and microwaves at 2am) and we get through a block of cheese, a loaf of bread, 4 pints of milk and a litre of juice every day:eek:

I'm hoping to save money by cutting out the crisps, chocolate, puddings etc but DH does most of the Mr T shopping at lunchtime and he has a whole mouthful of sweet teeth:D so it's dubious...

Got to do SOMETHING before the double whammy of redundancy/university hits._pale_

hi, can I be put down for £300 for Dec - like to think I spend £50 a week on groceries but I tend to ignore all the little extra bits so it might be a bit of an eye opener
This is all food shopping for 2 adults, DS1, DS2,a goldfish and a rabbit (who eats lots of cucumber!!!!!)

This is my first attempt so fingers crossed :)
  • I spent £10.42 today on some bits and pieces we really needed :o

I'm ashamed of myself, and can only defend this complete waste of money by saying I'm too ill to drive to the supermarket and as such paid ridiculously overpriced local shop for this stuff.

On the plus side we're having lasagne and chips for tea, and the cupboards and fridge are looking full :-)

    Must do better...
