  • I have a tin of condensed milk need a few idears what to do with it please.

Also I been making HM bread but making the dough in the bread maker then in the oven as it's a bit cold in my kitchen so I have found it's not been rising. Can I make dough one day and leave in the fridge and cook it the next or does it have to be used that day?

Did my first shop today £13 I was hoping not to spend anything for the week but I needed some nappies. Normally would use reusable in the day and dissposable at night but found out that my 10 week old daughter has discolated her hip and I'm worried that putting her in reusable might hurt or do more damage as they are bulky. And as I was in Mr A i bought a few other bits but nothing reduced.

yep..I make a normal white sauce and add cream cheese instead of hard cheese.... and if you want a really light sauce -you can beat some milk into the philli to loosen it off and then warm in a pan or gently in the micro....

:T Thank you, will give that a go and let you know. I am a rubbish cook but I try mu best, I think the food tastes ok to me but not to any one else strange :rotfl:

  • This is going to be an expensive month for us as we are having lots of people staying as well as others visiting.

We are Budgeting £700 We are including ALL food, visits to coffee shops, meals out, take aways, ice creams, sweets as well as toiletries and cleaning stuff, over the counter medicines & alcohol.

I realise this figure will seem extortionate to most of you, but we have budgeted for this & I would prefer to set a realistic target and stick to it than go for a lower figure and blow it and feel demoralised.

My plans for the rest of the day are:
    1. Catch up on this thread, already behind.
    2. Post final totals on Novembers challange.
    3. Do a stock cupboard/fridge/freezer inventory.
    4. Plan meals (will try for 10 days, for some reason I find this really difficult).
    5. Place order with Sainsburys, for ambient goods.
    6. Place order with online wholefood warehouse.
    7. Make a cheese cake (no reason except I enjoy eating them:D )

Didn't do too badly last month only £16 over so this month I'll try a bit harder!! I plan my meals and write a list, it's sticking to the list that is the problem I always see something 'nice' that I'll add to my trolley LOL!!

    So December's target is £300

    Hi All

I am declaring UNKNOWN for November as I completely lost the plot, and many receipts etc.

For December can you add me in at £400 That is to include all Christmas food shopping too.....I haven't got ANYTHING bought for Christmas yet so have to start from scratch, shopping gets delivered tomorrow. I usually have a little hoard by the start of Dec, in a box in the cupboard.

I don't post much but do read through now and then, I just find it hard to keep up with the thread.

    Good Luck everybody:xmassmile

I am going mad here --this morning I was reading about Twinks hobnobs...found a lovely recipe involving a tin of condensed milk with dessicated coconut and other ingreds I FORGOT !! - then wrapped in a swiss roll type shape and finished off with alcan foil to hold the shape, then stuck in the fridge to set it.
It's gone totally out of my head and I cant remember what was in it, nevermind where I saw it !!! Does anybody have a clue what I'm talking about please? and I'm sorry I know its OT but this forum is the only one I remember being in earlier...
