I might have read your post wrong Sean but your post seems like we've all offended you and I'm sure that was nobody's intention.

Nobody has said you were lazy but it seems most people do feel that despite having the talent you lack the ability to push yourself forward and seem to need others to jolly you along which is something that Anne Marie could obviously do so. In short, she would do a great job on the preparation and lay the groundwork in order for you to put on a great show/seminar which will in turn help you to realise your dreams.

I can't see where this comment fits in and how it affects the feedback on you?

Sorry if you think I was offended by anyones comments, this is a forum for debate and I take on board positives and negatives.
I have had comments all day from various people I have come into contact withtelling me how the programme made me look lazy and unmotivated when I am not, so I am bound to feel a little peeved.

I made my comment as I'm not quite sure if he can relate to anywhere north of Watfords slower pace of life, and the fact that when you have a young family it's important to find a good work life balance.
Jamie and I are very good friends and he has helped me enormously but just like in a marriage you don't always agree on everything.

One question :) why did you decide not to do the stop smoking seminars on holiday? I know you made the point that most people don't want to give up while they are on holiday and I agree. However, I would have thought a half hour seminar while you were out there and then pushing the CDs etc at the end could have netted some money? Or was the uptake on the CDs after you did the trial show not very good?

It was pretty much a mutual decision by me and the agency that booked me for the Holiday Village.

    Hi Sean,

So can you update us on whats happened since the programme...?

    1. Did the deal to sell your CD's through the tv shopping channel go ahead and how is it going?

    2. Are you / Anne Marie working now and if so doing what?

    3. Do you still plan to pay off the mortgage and if so, can we have details? I.e. how much is left and over what period would you like to pay it off?

Anything else that you would like to tell us....

(Please don't think I am being nosey... ok, I am actually but we will all understand if you don't want to tell us things, but if you are happy to tell us then we would all love to know!!)

  • Hi Sean and Ann Marie
Well done for achieving so much. £32,000 is fantastic.
I am frustrated on your behalf that the programme was edited in quite the way. You email certainly put the other side of the coin, so thanks.

But for me, anyway, with Rene full of praise for you at the end and the positve way Ann Marie spoke of you, Sean, made it clear that you were not lazy at all and enabled me to see beyond some editors take on 'exciting tv'. Nobody who wasn't already an entrepeneur instantly becomes one, and you have had a steep learning curve which will snowball I am sure.

Clearly your miscarriage did have a wretched effect on both of you ( and good opportunity here for people to realise that not just women get affected ) and yet you still carried both on. I think somepeople seem to have lacked the imagination to realise how draining this was for you and that Ann Marie just couldn't carry on the weight loss thing at that time.

You look set to repay your mortgage very early and still have a happy marriage and family life.

You both have my total respect and very good wishes

I did think that I would be flogging the BBC connection like fury when I saw it!!! I am guessing if was not allowed in the house rules??
I also wondered about giving away free tickets to skint students in the hope they might persuade their equally skint mates to go. I'd have suggested plonking yourselves outside Debenhams, Binns or M & S. Really wish I'd known and seen you Sean, I'd have guided you to where the people with cash were likely to be-lol:D

Oh dear it's our episode tonight.

Please don't think you have to be nice about the programme just because we are members of this forum. Forget about that and be honest.

    Cheers
    Sean

This is a thread to discuss the programme and of course people are going to comment on it and on you. That's something you have to accept when you make the decision to participate in such a programme. Nobody has been nasty to you but everyone has been honest in their opinions which is what you asked for yet you only seem to like the comments praising you and it seems you've taken offence and are peeved with any negative comments made.

You asked us to be honest - please don't be offended or peeved.

Sorry Lotta I may not have written my comments very well.
I have had no problem with the posts on here. I am probably an expert myself at being opinionated :p
I meant people in general I have spoken to in real life today not cyber space.
I apologise if you think I am getting at anyone on here as it is the best forum on the net.
    Cheers

Hi Sean and Anne Marie, Just wondering a couple of things, who do you get to mind your children? was Anne Marie made redundant from her banking job? the money could be put into the mortgage and surely there are other admin jobs near where you live that she could try? or you could do as I do, live on my husbands earnings ( very meagre!!) and try to make as many savings as possible using oldstyle board tips, cut out anything completely unnecessary eg. cable tv, smoking etc. rent one room out and pay off your mortgage quicker than usual but obviously not in the 2 year time frame and get to stay at home with children. Can I recommend "The complete tightwad gazette" book to give you ideas and inspiration to cut corners, you don't have to be mean but just look at what you do spend your money on. Sean I thought your shows look great, but the planning bit let you down, perhaps Anne Marie could make the phone calls for you and do the marketing to maximise the number of shows that you do. Anyway, I thought Rene wasn't much good, just like a school teacher who gets cross when you haven't done your homework, Jamie was much better, helping to get the ball rolling in different directions for you. Are you going to continue with this paying off your mortgage?? If so there are ways to do it without putting so much pressure on yourselves, see "get yourself a mortgage pig" make overpayments little by little etc..
Hi Sean and Ann Marie, Just wondering if you could spare a minute to answer some questions raised by me here and I think others had questions too. Many thanks and good luck
