No problem with any of your comments except the last bit...
Apart from one person on this page, who else has "poo poo(ed) this topic"?
If it is just that one post that you are referring to, ignore it, it's exactly that, one post!
If you mean the comments from me, I did say that it was "constructive criticism"

I agree, i think this prog was more realistic than some of the others - you need to have HUGE earning potential to pay of your mortgage in 2 years, and with a young family, it is difficult to fullfill all your potential.
I like the idea of Anne Marie being Seans manager - again, i agree, i really wanted to bang your head against the wall and say 'DO IT'!!!
Also wanted to add my ((HUGS)) to you both - a miscarrage is very difficult, even more so when its documented on tv - i hope things are ok now xx0 -
Well done Sean and Anne Marie. Allowing the public into your lives takes a lot of bottle. Openly discussing your finances and your personal situations is brave to say the least. The real achievement as far as I am concerned is that you entertained probably over 2 million British viewers tonight on prime time telly, and there are not many people can say that. Once again, well done.

No sorry I tried to cut and paste it but it didn't work It was ali007 and irishwench. They were the last comments I saw before I started typing. Took me ages because the batteries ran out in my key board and I had to find more and then work out how to change them. Stupid modern technology- who wants all these gizmos like wireless keyboard and mouse? Where am I going to take it? (If you can't tell my hubby is a gadget freak- hmm sounds a little familiar to our friend Sean?!)
Definition of constructive criticism is that you advise on how to improve the factor you are criticising.
I actually liked your post but felt that it was a little - um don't know but Coolio springs to mind- walk a mile in their shoes.
You can bet your bottom dollar (or save it to pay off the mortgage!!!) that we weren't shown the whole story because 2 hours is not 2 years.
Hope I didn't offend/ upset you my main issue was with the time wasters.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
If I'm expecting to win 11 million maybe I should start buying a lottery ticket..... You've obviously misunderstood my facetious post.
I was frustrated at the way they constantly took the best case scenario and projected that. And not once did they mention tax (which is common in all the programmes). Sean has a great gift and could make a fortune but doesn't have the drive - what a waste - he seems incapable of following through.
I'm not knocking 32k, which is great, but it could have been so much more. I wish I had a talent I could exploit like that. I have the drive, but not the talent. I've done the best with what I have, but paying off 100k is outside my possibilities - that's what hacked me off, thinking how he wasting his potential by living on cloud la la.
However, as opposed to what you seem to think I've achieved a lot by NOT sitting on my backside, by researching thoroughly, taking chances and then following through in an organised way. In 10yrs I've gone from living in a grotty area with 5k equity to a lovely home and a place overseas and that's without such a talent. If Sean had applied himself he could have achieved so much more than me.......A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

but it was a poor show in terms of showing us anything. more just a documentary about 2 people's lives, which was interesting but not really achieving the pay off your mortgage in 2 years thing.
nothing taken into account for mortgage interest. in 2 years on 120k debt, that would be um, 12k extra onto the debt (at 5%).
if you can save 14k in a year, how was that done? (ie were they overspending their salaries by 14k and now have stopped that). I could save 14k a year if i didn;t have any mortgage payments or mortgage interest to pay.
my main issue is just that its not at all a YOU CAN DO THIS SHOW - like alvin or martin's show or even spendaholics. the numbers are suspect and it doesn't give us or the couples any advice on how to do it, just leaves them alone and prods them occasionally. so i can't see the point of it. A thread here would be better, with details and advice offered. else its just an insight into 2 people's lives for a year.0 -
why hasn't the 'quit smoking ' worked for Anne Marie??? that would save a lot of money!0

I get this all of the time.
I can only help people who want to quit smoking, and during the programme she wasn't exactly in the right frame of mood to quit smoking. ( Not sure if you saw it all ) but it was the last thing on her mind!!!!!!
I will respond to other peoples kind and not so kind opinions tomorrow, as of course will Anne-Marie.
What I will say is a special thank you to Kaz2904 your posting made us both very emotional. Thank you so much x0 -
Aw shucks!
As a smoker myself I know the pressure you are under and you seem to do the same as me and smoke outside! I gave up for 2 years (why did I start again?) and really wish I could stop now but just am not ready yet. I hate it but I'm just not ready.

Oh dear I pressed the "thanks" button instead of "Quote"
With smoking you have to reach the point where youwant to give up otherwise it won't work. It doesn't matter how much someone tells you how bad it is/how much it costs/how you should have given up by now etc etc because unless you've made that decision for yourself you'll never succeed no matter which method you choose to help you.

But the world may be a little better, because I was important in the life of a child."0
