    Afternoon all,

Very frosty here this morning, now sunny but still cold, Ulick lit living room fire as soon as we came back from shopping, now finished until at least Monday, rubber chicken on its first journey at present, in oven for roast with roast veg and potatoes for dinner later on.
Made a large mince tray bake, will cut into squares when cold...I find individual pies too fiddly....and then freeze for Christmas, made my pudding and have first one steaming away merrily, made cake yesterday, feel soooo organised.

Finished hat and scarf for DS1 last night, DS2 still to go, DS 3 is, I think, getting a shirt as he is not into hm gifts....he and his fear fiancee drive me nuts as they spend what I consider a fortune on everybody and I spend as little as possible, not about money anyway, but thought and love....IMHO.

Hugs to all in need or want, congratulations to all who are celebrating, welcome to all newbies.

We woke up to a really heavy frost this morning, and all the windows (I lovingly cleaned on Wed) were covered in condensation. After my busy day yesterday, recycling, errands for hubby and shopping at Mr T's & Dunnes & Lidl, felt pretty exhausted. All off to school and work so I lit the woodburner had a nice cuppa then made some of twinks hobnobs and a lovely chorizo soup for tea, Kids are having baked spuds as they think soup is a bit spicy.
Just sorted out the washing and will bring the rest in before it starts to get damp again.
Wanted to say a big thank you all on here for the wonderful tips and ideas, Ive probably saved a small fortune in the past month since joining you. :j p.s happy birthday to Ruby

Hi all,not posted for a few days, seem to run out of time at the moment.Hope everyone is well.
I went to my cardmaking class this morning which involves an early(for me:rolleyes: )start.Only two more left, and there arent enough people left in the class for it to run after Christmas.Shame- I've really enjoyed it,even the bus travel as the 2nd bus runs through where I was brought up,I never normally go that way, not since my mum and dad passed away so its a trip down memory lane.
Called at Aldi on my way back, got some of their cheeses to put away for over Xmas, the dates go past then anyway, cooked meat, some ribbon and gift boxes,oh and chocolate...

I got a chilli out this morning, just need to decide whether its jackets or rice to go with it.DS has asked for the same as last night, which was hm rolls and some minute steak from Costco, with onions.I found them at the bottom of the chest freezer, and for some reason they weren't on my freezer list.

Quite impressed yesterday-did my online T shop, but went thru' my supermarket.com and saved over a tenner by swapping certain items.I was quite surprised that it came out cheaper for my stuff at T than A.You get loyalty points too.I also spent some clubcard vouchers on 2 mag subscriptions, which is a big saving on buying them, and i have some left to put towards my last pre-C'mas shop.

Been reading my meters with imeasure,weekly-seem to have used a lot of leccy this week  ,dont feel I've done anything different to usual.

    Bye for now,take care xx

Hi All, well I'm feeling paranoid as I had to have 2 jabs whilst DH got away with 1. Apparently I hadn't had a hepititus A and DH had. I swear I have had it.

Anyhoo, didn't get to Aldi for the birds inside a bird as I was freezing. Came home and DH and I cooked celeriac, boiled gammon joint and Anna pots for dinner. DH had the bubble & squeek for his lunch.

Popped into curtain shop and fell in love with a ROMO material, after deceiding I need 18.5 mtrs the price came to £716.87p, it's £38.75p per mtr:eek:  DH said it would properbly last for 10yrs. so that's only £71.68 a year.

Think I'll get back online and search for something else.

DB2 went for blood test results after having a Melanoma removed, they have to make sure nothing got in the bloodstream.

    It was all clear:j :j :j :j

    Hugs to all x

Put the YS bacon joint in the slow cooker this morning and added soaked dried peas, carrots and potatoes to turn it into soup in the slow cooker this afternoon.

If DD (14) turns her nose up at home made soup then she can have egg and chips instead

I thought DD(19) was coming home this weekend but no word from her, unless she intends to surprise us!

I was starting to look like Cousin It from the Addams Family so cut my fringe- I can see!!!!:j

DDs have used up loads of shampoo and shower gel but not told me we were running low so might pop out later to get some unless DH takes me toTesco tomorrow morning.

Hugs to Betheebee, Hester, Penny Pincher and anyone who coud do with one.

Happy Birthday to Ruby :bdaycake: :bdaycake:

Got an e mail from approved foods to say order has been sent so might arrrive tomorrow.

Welcome to turfy6 and HockeyDuo and any other new people on the daily.

Just going to grab a coffee before DD gets back from school.

    Esor

Glad the hob nobs worked out half covered with choc.

Suddenly thought that a small kilner jar from Ikea would not cost much but could be filled with hob nobs or home made fudge etc and make a posh looking present.

  • Hi all
It has been raining here all day today, but i still stood outside and burnt my bank receipts in the chimnea this afternoon.
All i wanted to eat today was chocolate, but made myself defrost some sea bass for lunch instead.
I have dried some washing by hanging it over the banister and in the airing cupboard, so no TD today! and i reserved a couple of library books online which will be delivered by the mobile library next week, so that will save another journey by car (and my DD loves climbing into 'the big bus'!).
Hope everyone has a good weekend x
