Normally I don`t find people offensive here. I was surprised at DDs recent attack on !!!!!!. I do think you let yourself down there a bit old chap. Chucky is offensive. He has an extremely nasty side to him. He accused me of spending my life "ripping people off". Then admitted that he got me muddled up with another poster. He is not decent or mature enough to apologise. Will I lose sleep, shouldn`t think so.......lol

I have no need and intention to apologise to you after what you had said about when you got yourself by wading in when I was on the receiving end (that happens regularly) from one of !!!!!!'s aliases.

Being decent or mature has nothing to do with apologising to someone (like you) that has double standards.

At least we have somnething in common - we won't be losing sleep.

Frankly I have no idea if !!!!!! has aliases. As I have said, so called anonymity on the internet has not in the past stopped libel/slander court actions. Go very careful about what you say. Accusing someone of "ripping other people off all there lives" is a very serious and grave accusation. To be honest with you chucky, I am amazed that you are still allowed to post here after some of the accusations you have made about certain individuals.

I don't think that you can libel/slander an anonymous entity - so unless you could prove that a lot of people knew who you actually are in real life it's unlikely that you can do much legally, even though it would be actionable as libel 'in real life'.

These sorts of posts are of course blatantly against the rules of the forum. I've reported a good few as abuse but only seen action taken on one or two occasions. Then the mods complain that the group seems to attract aggro? They need to take action upon complaints themselves to pre-empt it, otherwise the troublemakers will take the p*ss.

The best you can do is just put persistent antagonists on 'ignore' so that you don't see their baiting and are that less likely to get fished into a slanging match ... which don't forget is the intent of the person posting the remarks.

I don't come onto MSE to throw insults at people so I don't see why I should let myself get dragged into a slanging match instigated by someone who just wants to verbally fight. Don't argue with an idiot - they'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Jesus. I can't believe I read through the whole of this thread...is this the future of the House Prices forum?!

Perhaps it's because there's a dearth of House Price related articles atm. Perhaps everyone now agrees that prices are falling; debating the length of the price deflation clearly isn't as interesting as the debate of whether prices would ever fall.

I realise that by posting I am re-igniting the fire, but just felt that I had to put my point across. Notice that I mention no fellow posters. I respect most of the posters involved in this sordid affair (whether or not I agree with most of their comments), but that respect (and I imagine I'm not alone in this) dwindles with every jibe.
