!!!!!! said the above. As happens on a monotonously regular basis various people jumped on him. I find their actions tedious and tiresome. Please let me have some of the 'action'.I happen to think that there is an appalling lack of financial awareness amongst the general public. Sorry if you pick that up as a denegration, it's an observation on my part. Maybe you should chill out.
I think 95% of people are dense. They do not have a clue about anything apart from the soaps and "Celebrity I've got a Gherkin up my @rse". To allow these people a free vote is incomprehensible to me. To overhear conversations about current affairs from generally clueless idiots who have scanned the Sun headline and repeat it knowledgeably to their mates is to confirm my view.
In similar vein, to have every statement from !!!!!! picked apart, not from a point of debate but to attack, is similarly puke making. We all have faults guys, try looking in the mirror occasionally.
Over to you to point out how wrong I am, and hopefully to pick up every point I make in the future. Got to get this thankyou count down somehow, I'm beginning to look like the class creep. And if you want spend hours carefully taking my every word apart, well you're in for a fairly boring time.0 -

Lets review this thread for a moment...
!!!!!!? posts;
"Nothing can stop Gordonomics. He figures he can control everything and make things happen in the economy by dictat.
Even telling the public about stuff the government doesn't want you to hear can land you being arrested and having anti-terrorist police searching your parliamentary office these days.
Won't be long before we see 'anti-terror' laws and organisations being deployed more widely against the general public - Brown and his increasingly autocratic chums are a menace."
You respond with;
"There is no cap gains or VAT on Gold Sovereigns because they're classed as currency. If the tin foil brigade want to hide their money then they can buy sovs. However, I suspect it more likely that you could lose your wealth in a fire or robbery than with Zimbabwe style hyper inflation.
However, you makes your choices and you takes your chances.
Interesting that !!!!!! is increasingly vocal about his hyper inflation prediction yet has not done anything about it. He sold his gold and he hasn't bought a house. One would protect his wealth due to its intrinsic value, the other could be paid off with one week's income of £1M if we go down the Zimbabwe route. It's laughable that !!!!!! makes these outlandish financial prdictions, it's regrettable that the feeble minded listen to him.
My advice? Listen to people who follow their own advice. Simple as."
Choosing to link laughable, outlandish and feeble-minded with !!!!!!? comments is bile. Pure and simple.
He has an opinion, you have an opinion; you want to state it fine, but keep it from being personal. Then !!!!!! or take it somewhere else.
ps. Are you doing your regular deletion act?? Maybe you/mods were advised to do so, because of a personal information concern, granted, but "he knows who his is, and now I know who he his" has disappeard since yesterday - completely. Could have been edited if sensitive, could have been left, as if sensitivity was the issue the whole thread should have disappeared.
My take on it, is that you said that with a view to having a supposed "hold" over an individual, like the bullying, twisting, obsessed phsyco that you are.
You are Bruno, admit it...
If I now add a wink, does that excuse everything else, like you try to do, to pretend not meaning offence.
Coz that is bollox too.
lol, what an idiot. See Gen, you try and bury the hatchet and he logs on with another one of his 'sock puppets' or PM's one of his sycophants/bum chums and get's them involved.
Sad, it really is. :rotfl:
:kisses3: <- this is Canon Fodder kissing !!!!!!'s cheek (not the one on his face), though as Canon Fodder is probably !!!!!! in disguise then !!!!!! is quite the contortionist to bend that far over.

Hi guys,
I'm somewhat new to this forum and don't know the entire history behind this love affair, but I reckon you should just call a truce.
DD, whilst I tend to agree with your financial views more than !!!!!!'s, I've seen a lot of personal attacks from you recently and to be honest it makes you seem a bit obsessed. Contradict him, sure, but leave out the nastiness. If he was nasty to you in the past then don't lower yourself to that level.
I for one like the fact that there are different views on this forum, even if I don't agree with them all.
And to Mewbie, I agree a lot of people are thick. Democracy may not be the ideal system, but it's a lot better than what I think you're suggesting (i.e. somewhat of an intellectual dictatorship?). Who are you to say your opinion is more valid than anothers?0 -
My opinion is probably more valid to me than anyone else's. I listen to other points of view, but tend to plough on regardless. And I suspect most of us do similar. But more valid than anyone else's - no of course not. Sorry if it came across that way.And to Mewbie, I agree a lot of people are thick. I was trying to make a supportive post in my own 'style'.0 -

Easy to say and hard to do. I have simply been doing over the last week what he has been doing for ages - I see him in an argument with other people and I jump in with a !!!!!!-esque attack such as "Oh is <insert name> having a row, how appalling, s/he is ruining the forum", or the old Start an argument and run away crying ploy or many other manipulations that !!!!!! does.
Funnily enough that when I do it for a week, I have his mates, sock puppets and other assorted MSE folk get on my back, yet where on earth are you all when he's doing it?

Easy to say and hard to do... Probably true, but do you agree with what I said?
Like I said I'm fairly new here and if he does feel the need to use alternate names to back himself up that's a bit sad.
I just don't see the need for decent topics to degenerate into personal attacks regardless of who started it. Unless it's funny that is
I'd say most people don't respond because they're ignoring the bickering. The best way to get rid of a troll is to ignore it.0 -
I find this all very strange. People using different log ins???? That strikes me as a little worse than just odd. Flipping heck, it`s only a forum at the end of the day. Yes I very much enjoy coming on this site and I suppose I am in the fortunate position of no kids at home and bought and paid for. Maybe that is an influence on my long standing housing bear attitude. I am one of the more senior posters.
Normally I don`t find people offensive here. I was surprised at DDs recent attack on !!!!!!. I do think you let yourself down there a bit old chap. Chucky is offensive. He has an extremely nasty side to him. He accused me of spending my life "ripping people off". Then admitted that he got me muddled up with another poster. He is not decent or mature enough to apologise. Will I lose sleep, shouldn`t think so.......lol0 -
The whole multiple user thing has me confused.
DD, the thing that bothers me is that, since all this kicked off a few weeks back, there seems to be less going on on this board now. By less, I mean less quality.
That is the downside.
I could really do with lots of links to info that I wouldn't normally see. If the poster puts an opinion after it, fine. Most of us can digest an article and draw our own conclusions if we disagree with their take on it.
I was working on-line the other day and had this open on a tab...just to see if anything exciting was going on.......nope.......not a lot at all.
From a purely selfish viewpoint, I need as much economic info as poss as I have to make some big decisions that are relevant to this board.
No-one really has the right to judge how someone chooses to use their time
plus we all have different financial priorities.
To be fair, the most outrageous stuff was posted by Pickled Pink aimed at 2 regular posters. It was personal, !!!!!y and vindictive...very school playground.
I regret not posting a reply on it but couldn't summon up the energy or brain power to think of the correct response.
Fortunately, the 2 posters attacked currently parent toddlers, so are practised in ignoring attention seeking stuff.
If a thread or poster winds you up....just leave it alone??
Makes for a more serene environment.0 -

Ah, but Pickled is so outrageous, she's funny, whereas these guys are just boring when they get into a spat.
Like you, I come here to read opinions and, although I don't agree with some, or even remember many, I feel better for the experience. I like most of the different characters who post here regularly, so I wouldn't wish for any of them to stop, or modify their style.
I'm not saying much about the current economic situation. If I did, people would start mentioning tin foil hats and the like. Put simply, I'm not likely to be in financial need, yet I'm still scared, because it goes wider than pure economics.0
