Looking forward to the new one in 2010!
Thanks poorbutrichYou're always welcome to chip in with comments or helpful suggestions - it's always nice to have well-wishers break up my internal monologue!
Both the GF and I are feeling very 'Christmassy' now (cue dancing in the kitchen to Christmas carols while we wait for our soup to heat up). I hope you have a good one too - I feel we could all use some good cheer after the pandemonium that was 2009?0 -
Afternoon Ed. Managed to escape work early today for fear of being snowed in there all weekend
You two ok??

Mince pies, wine and hiding from the cold tonight.

Morning
Morning (well, afternoon now)! Hope you're having a good one?
I've been out to the shops today to pick up some festive food and a few stocking fillers. I bought a 5lb gammon joint, which I will be marinading in cider overnight before poaching and roasting with a chilli jelly and lemon juice glaze
Also picked up some wine for tonight and some Crabbies' alcoholic ginger beer (you might have seen the TV adverts?) Have to say it's delicious - GF and I split a 500ml bottle with lunch (well, it is the weekend) and I'm already feeling merry. It's about time that they brought out a 'Christmassy' alcopop!
Other than that, have posted some last minute Christmas cards and am starting to write up my resolutions for 2010 and my new DFW diary. I'm hoping that my New Start Challenge will make all the difference (sealed jars ago go).
Feeling quite silly - maybe it's the festivity in my blood, or maybe it's the ginger beer :rotfl:0 -

When I was at the shops yesterday I bought two nice bottles of Fitou (£5 from £10 in Sainsbury's). One of them was for drinking, one was for my little sister's BF for a small Christmas gift. Anyways, we ended up drinking both of them last night and I'm ashamed to say I went to bed pretty drunk
GF and I ended up chatting for three hours solid, then we watched The Abyss and ate our body weight in Doritos :rotfl:
I managed to replace the wine today, although I do have a background hangover which is thoroughly deserved!
Just finished the housework (hoovering, cleaning the kitchen and bathroom and sweeping and washing the kitchen and bathroom floors). The place is spotless and I'm full of Christmas cheer as I'll probably not be doing housework again until 2010
Mucking about on the computer now, thinking about getting my suitcase out for the trip home on Wednesday and generally trying to keep the flat tidy.0 -
